Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I don't know what to think.
I have been following this relatively closely and it appears to be one big clusterfuck.
What I personally believe is it was hijacked and plummeted into the drink.  I find it hard to believe that anything that large is going to stay hidden if they made landfall anywhere.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I've never enjoyed flying, it makes me nervous. But I guess there is some advantage to crashing on land rather than surviving a sea crash and treading water until one gives out. Horrible thought.

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'

Well, surviving a sea crash and then eventually being eaten by sharks or drowning.

My point was there is "no advantage" to crashing anywhere.

So. Since this thing just disappeared from radar, does that mean it disintegrated midair?

If it crashed into the ground, wouldn't radar show it descending?

Well from my understanding the Transponder got turned off in mid flight (which turned off the planes signature to the tower), and you really have to know what you're doing to do that.

Interesting fact:  I learned from a FAA lecturer that only around 40% of people die on impact, most die of fire, smoke inhalation, or drowning.  Good times!

I have no idea what happened, I just know that unless the plane originates out of the US, Canada, France, Germany, UK, or Japan my butt will not be on it.  And I will never fly on a general aviation aircraft (overwhelming majority of US flight related deaths are people in small planes).

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

If it was hijacked to be used for a terrorist attack, I'd imagine that it would be used fairly quickly.  As stated, it's hard to hide a 777 for a long period of time.

Though if a country's government was in on it, it'd be real easy to hide it.

Interesting. Apparently the plane kept flying after the transponder was turned off.

Thing was hijacked.
