Troy Aikman
Terry Bradshaw

( 7 combined super bowl rings)

slightly disagree with you.

Look up Bradshaw's stats....very average. Was on great teams with great defenses.

Aikman was good but not great. Staubach was great. Elway, Unitas and Young too.

I don't know.  The eye test I guess.

Super Bowl rings matter to an extent, but so does choking when it matters.  Before this season he was 9-11 in playoff games.  He'd thrown for 32 TDs but also had 21 picks in the playoffs.

He could have sent Ray Lewis out last year with a big fat L on his murdering resume, but he choked and threw a Tony Romo pick deep in Raven territory that killed a drive and let Baltimore come back and win.

He's just never done that much for me.  Always seemed like a regular season guy who pffftt'ed at critical times.

You've got people like Big Papi -- love Big Papi -- who turn it on in the post-season. I don't care what he does in the regular season, I want him in the lineup when the playoffs begin. And then there are guys like Andruw Jones who tear it up during the season but fade in the playoffs.  Jones was something like 1-17 in the 2003 playoffs for Atlanta.

Peyton's always been that to me.  A good regular season guy, but not the player I want when my team is in the playoffs.  Regular season stats are great.  But how do you play when marbles are at stake?

Give me warriors like Favre and Montana.  Heck, even Drunken Stabler, Goofy Bradshaw or Steve Young.

I'm sure Peyton will get in the HoF.  I'll yawn when it happens.  Don't misunderstand, I like the guy.  Had the chance to talk to him after the Vols beat the Turds at Legion and he led the band.  Nice guy. Came away impressed.  But greatest of all time?   There's a big line ahead of him IMO.  Not sure he can see the front from where he stands.

Peyton was also asked to do the most in many of those scenarios with the least amount of supporting cast around him. Easy to label a guy in that situation as a choker when he fails. And he will fail sometimes.....hes human. Denver has been dominant with him. They haven't looked this good since Elway left. And Peyton is why. Does anyone remember what Indy was before him? The good ole 1-15 Jeff George days.

The guy is good. From his stats, his wins, the superbowls (1 maybe 2 after this weekend), to the way he directs traffic on the field and reads defenses like a book on the fly.

Seriously?  Most with least?

Hall of Fame receiver in Indy. Outstanding OL. Durable running backs. Defense that progressed.  Peyton alone led them to an 3-13 season despite having Marshall Faulk in the backfield.  Threw for a ton of yards, but also had like 30 interceptions or something. It was nearly two a game, I remember that.  The Colts didn't get better until they added the pieces to the puzzle.  Reggie Wayne. Marvin Harrison, Edgerrin James, Dwight Freeney and most often overlooked, Dungy.

Even then, Peyton stunk it up in a 41-0 playoff loss to the awful Jets.

Brady beat him pretty much every time it mattered until this most recent playoff win.

Played like crap in his second Super Bowl appearance and got ram-rodded by the 'Aints. Who loses in the Super Bowl to the 'Aints?  It would be like somebody letting Mississippi State win the BCS Title. Raw suckage.

Don't pretend that Peyton didn't have a good supporting cast. For most of his career he's had better support than almost any QB on the list.

Compared to Bradshaw, Montana and Aikman, no.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."
