Using professional athletes to recruit. Saban throwing a party at his mansion & getting drunk in front of recruits.

For fuck's sake, rules do not apply to Alabama, clearly.

I don't see any recruits there, just recruits family. I'm not sure it's a violation, unless the recruits are present.

Evans spent his weekend in Tuscaloosa, where he was hosted by a familiar face during his official visit to UA.

"Reuben Foster was Rashaan's host for the weekend. They were obviously good friends and teammates when Reuben was at Auburn High," Evans' father said. "Reuben couldn't say enough about how much he loves being at Alabama and said he really thinks Rashaan would be a great fit playing alongside him in the linebacker corps at Alabama. They had a great time together the whole weekend."

"On Saturday, we went to Coach Saban's house for dinner and spent a lot of time with him and with Miss Terry. They really treated us like royalty. It was a great time."

It won't surprise me either way. UCLA would surprise me. But, I won't be upset should he choose Bama because at least he hasn't played us like others have in the past.

I think Alan is having more fun with the recruiting than anyone.

I guess if he goes to bammer at least Reuben will have somebody to help him keep the bench warm.

The decor is similar to my house. I display all of my old trophies and 4-H ribbons in our den too.

In all honesty, what I think happened is they had all the recruits over for dinner, then the kids went out with their hosts or whatever, and the parents all got drunk together.

Maybe a gray area in terms of legality, but if it were Auburn it most certainly would be reported in a negative fashion, I would bet my mortgage it would be notified of at least secondary violations.

Seems to me the NFL stars at the party is a violation. I thought only school staff members and faculty are allowed to have contact with a recruit during an official visit. Boosters cannot. Former players, currently in the NFL are defined as boosters.

I guess the infuriating part is that it's not even considered, for one second, that it could be a violation. No one gives a shit. Let Auburn do some shit like that. Let Malzahn have a party at his house with Cam Newton, and hell, Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Payton Hillis, and any other NFL star with connections to Malzahn. Let him get everyone drunk at the same recruiting party. Let's see how the media reacts to that. I'm sure exactly the same. I'm sure it'd be nothing more than chuckles about what a good time it seemed like they were having.

I guess the infuriating part is that it's not even considered, for one second, that it could be a violation. No one gives a shoot. Let Auburn do some shoot like that. Let Malzahn have a party at his house with Cam Newton, and hell, Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Payton Hillis, and any other NFL star with connections to Malzahn. I think we have had Bo and/or Cam talk to recruits before. I don't know where the line is drawn but I don't think that there is anything wrong with them meeting these guys.

It is my understanding that they can't get involved with the recruiting. I guess the "meeting and recruiting" definitions come into play.
