Not surprising.  He knew Coker was coming, and he can probably start from day 1 at USC.  Coker will have two years of eligibility at Alabama and will more than likely be the starter in September.  Not saying that Town isn't talented, because he certainly is.  And in that sense, Coker sure as fuck better pan out.  If he really was nearly even with Winston at FSU as their coaches say, then I feel pretty good.

He won't be able to go through the spring with Kiffin, but that's no problem for an All-World QB built in the mold of AJ McTats.

This is an NCAA rule.

The SEC may have an addendum that says if you transfer internally, then you have to sit. But FSU is not in the SEC (just thought I'd let you know)

I don't know if it's an SEC rule but most scholarships don't allow for transfer to at least some in conference schools--at least that's what I've been told. I remember the RB who transferred from UF to us (Blakeny?) had to get special permission from Muschamp in order to come. I think he left soon after transferring anyway.

Yes. But Coker is GRADUATING, not transferring. Big difference.

He will have to take a masters in something that FSU does not offer.

Just so we are straight...Its okay with the SEC office if a player with 2 years of eligibility left takes advantage of the NCAA loophole where a player can transfer and play immediately in pursuit of his post graduate degree. Yet the SEC will not allow it if the player only has 1 year elgibility left?

or simply..

Russell Wilson + 1 year of elegibility left = Hired assassin.

Jacob Coker + 2 years of elegibility left = Academic scholar.

Well, not really. The only reason Coker is seen as a academic scholar is because he is going to uat. And everybody know uat does not get QBs from the JUCO/XFER ranks. They already got all the good ones.

And we all know why Sims wont get the job.

Don't understand your point, Russell could have come to us, he wasn't barred by the SEC.  He choose Wisconsin because in his infinite wisdom Chizik wouldn't guarantee him the starting spot.  I mean can you blame him he would have had to compete with Kadizil and Moseley.

I think he's referring to some rule that the SEC came up with and I can't remember the specifics of it. IIRC, it did make transfers more stringent than the NCAA requirements.
