I agree with him to an extent. Not every coach under Chizik or tubs at the end I think was bad. I thought Gran and Grimes were two of those that just got caught up in a coaching change. And were also the victims of a bad head man in charge, at least towards the end of both of those eras.

Eddie G is supposedly on the wish list for UAB.

Rumors are that he will either accept that head coaching position or become the new skipper on the Titanic.

I would have agreed 100% until I saw the strides our OL made this year.  He may have been the victim of a dumpster fire of an offensive philosophy battle between Chiz and Loeffler, but our OL was teh suckage last year.  The same group (mostly) was good, and occasionally dominant this year.  Hard to say exactly who was at fault for last season with regards to the OL, but some blame has to go to Jeff Grimes.  As if that really matters now though.

Agreed but, before this season, the 2010 was the best OL that I've seen at AU. I don't think Knute Rockne, the Barr, or Tom Landry could have been successful on 2012's staff. It was toxic.

Obviously, the common thread here is Malzahn.  Anyone recall some still photos someone posted here after the LSU game in 2010.  They originated with an LSU fan who was showing a sequence of shots of our line blocking and saying that was the reason we had about 1,500 yards of offense that day.  The blocking schemes were so intricate.  As our running game really got going this year, I started paying more attention to that and it was a big focus of the experts in all the analysis prior to the MNC game.  Really incredible to watch the linemen and fullback on a "simple" off tackle running play.

We started nothing but freshmen and sophomores last year on the OL.  That was a huge factor.  THat's also why they were so good this year in front of Tre, and why they will be BEASTS next year as juniors and seniors.  That's why the OL was so good in 2010 - they had been together 4 years.
