Haven't seen a good one yet, so I wrote my own. Share and enjoy!!
THE 2013 VERSION OF THE DAY OF THE IRON BOWL
Twas the day of the Iron Bowl and all through the state.
There was lots of emotion and lots of raw hate.
The Tide were The Chosen, their coach a machine.
An unstoppable juggernaut, or so it would seem.
The bammers were crowing, convinced they would win
They didn’t even wait for the game to begin.
Their GeorgiaDome tickets were all but in hand
And trips to the Rose Bowl were already planned.
All across the Turd Nation, there arose such a clatter
To the Tigers in blue, though, it just didn’t matter.
Before bammer could claim it, they’d have something to say,
Because on The Plains, it was A New Day.
A mad football genius was now in the lead.
He taught Tigers to play at incredible speed.
Comebacks, heroics and miracle plays!
The Jordan Hare Prayer had us talking for days.
And now came the Iron Bowl, with winner take all,
But the bammers were certain that Auburn would fall.
Their coach was better, of course, don’t you see?
And bammer was once again The Dynasty!
But kicks, they went sailing, Saban threw up his hands.
And our defense stood tall on those 4th and 1 stands.
A 99-yarder raised the bammer fans’ hopes.
But then Marshall scrambled and found Sammy Coates.
A step out of bounds, oh! How Saban did whine!
And after discussion, they gave him more time.
One second was all that the Tide team would need.
A Three-Peat was coming for bammers indeed.
On Mason! On Marshall! On Corey and Cameron!
On Jay Prosch! On Dee Ford! On Dismukes and Lawson!
Another missed kick, guess it’s overtime now…
But wait... there goes Davis!!!!!!! OMG! HOLY COW!
From the back of the end zone to the front of the wall!
Now block a man, make him miss, take away all!
An incredible moment, that awesome Kick Six.
In one single second, our Coach Gus outfoxed Nick.
Davis got tackled and fell to the ground.
But it was Mincy who did it. We’re ATL BOUND!
And thanks to the Spartans, who took care of Urban
The Tigers are playing for crystal, it’s certain.
The crowd stormed the field, the TP rolls flew.
The celebration showed what we already knew.
There’s no place like Auburn, just no place at all.
Because it’s so, so much more than just Tiger Football.
It’s friendship and laughter and orange and blue.
Being part of a family that loves you back too.
It’s lemonade at Toomers under an old live oak tree.
For Auburn men and women – we know. We believe.
So Merry Christmas to Tiger fans and Happy New Year!
Make merry and celebrate!! Be of good cheer!
The bammers were silenced on a play that was legal!
Now bring on the ‘Noles, and oh yes, WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!
