The Hardware Continues To Pile Up

pinched-n-pasted from the al. I am a gay twerker that has no balls!!!!  I also have no idea how to use the quote function to post stories, so I annoy the piss out of others.  I like male genatalia in and around my mouth.

Two classic calls. One award.

Auburn's Rod Bramblett was named the play-by-play announcer of the year by Sports Illustrated in its latest issue that hit newsstands this week.

“This is a great honor being recognized for what has been a truly incredible season,” Bramblett said in a news release. “This award isn’t just for me, but it is for the entire Auburn IMG Sports Network crew which I consider to be the best in the business.”

Bramblett's calls of Ricardo Louis' 73-yard touchdown catch against Georgia -- 'Miracle at Jordan-Hare' -- and the 109-yard touchdown return of a missed field goal by Chris Davis in the Iron Bowl spread like wildfire on the Internet last month.

“Bramblett was given two once-in-a-lifetime plays this year, and he delivered on both," Sports Illustrated writes in its Dec. 16 issue. "Though his call of Chris Davis’s 109-yard dash in the Iron Bowl will be played for eternity, even better was his description of Ricardo Louis’s 73-yard catch of a tipped ball that gave the Tigers a 43-38 win over Georgia on Nov. 16."

Bramblett is in his 11th season as Auburn's play-by-play announcer.

Totally agree.  I assume it's his intent to keep the Fyffe tradition alive with his "Touchdown Auburn" calls, but honestly, every time he does it, all I can think of is how it sounds like a cheap imitation.  He needed to honor Fyffe with it a few times but get his own signature call.  Otherwise, he's damn good in my book and the over-the-top homerism just warms the heart.

IMO, he surpassed Jim Fyffe with his "Miracle in Jordan-Hare" & the "Kick Six" calls.

Agree completely.  Wish he had his own call.

I can't agree with this, because of what Fyffe meant to me as a kid learning to love Auburn.

On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk
To get motel parking lot, balcony crunk.

Bramblett is a great commentator, Fyffe was the voice of Auburn football. He still has a way to go.
