AUBURN — Gus Malzahn announced redshirt-freshman tight end Ricky Parks was dismissed from the team for a “violation of team rules.â€
“I’d like to let everybody know that Ricky Parks will no longer be on our team,†Malzahn said. “He’s been dismissed for a violation of team rules. It’s like I’ve said before — we have high expectations for our players on and off the field. We wish him nothing but the best.â€
The Hoganville, Ga. native redshirted last season and was listed second at H-Back behind fullback Jay Prosch coming out of spring practice. He was the second-ranked tight end in the country by Rivals coming out of Callaway in 2011.
The dismissal of Parks leaves only two scholarship tight ends on the roster – C.J. Uzomah and Brandon Fulse.
