So on to Missouri....

So on to Missouri....
« on: December 01, 2013, 10:08:23 PM »
Are they really any good?  I haven't watched a full game of them once.  I watched the end of the Missouri-Georgia game.  I watched the 4th quarter of the Missouri-South Carolina game.

I know some things about them.  They spread the ball out.  Mobile quarterback that isn't all that amazing but consistently makes plays.  Tall, talented receivers.  Stout defensive line that's undersized but really quick.

I looked up some stats on CFBStats.com.

112th in passing defense.  14th in rushing defense.  They give up 19.4 points per game.  They have 18 interceptions on the year.  They have 37 sacks on the year which places them at 4th in the nation.

18th in rushing offense with 236 yards per game.  42nd in passing offense with 252 yards per game.  They've only thrown 6 interceptions all year.

I do know they beat a Gurley-less Georgia, and honestly, they beat Georgia when they were at their worst.  They were lauded for their defeat of Florida, but Florida finished 4-8.  They played South Carolina the same way we played Georgia, but they didn't get the miracle; they got the doink.  They beat A&M in a meaningless game for A&M at home in Columbia.

I don't know.  After running on Alabama, I have no doubt if we come out prepared and ready to execute, we'll run all over them.  But can our defense stop them?

They don't have a yeldon. They don't have bamas OL. They don't have bamas studs at the skill positions - Norwood, Howard and cooper. No offense to green-beckham.

And they sure as hell don't have the talent on D we just saw. We will run them ragged. Literally run all over them. I see some play action happening.

Missouri hasn't seen a rushing attack like the one they'll see in the SEC Championship Game.

Watched them play twice.  Using the last game as a comparison:

We are better than Texas A&M on defense and they struggled with the Aggies.

We are better on offense than A&M, but they did a really good job containing Evans and Manziel. When the Aggies ran, they didn't handle it well.

We have a chance.

It will be another tough game that we will be lucky to win. We are coming off the biggest victory in recent history(besides Oregon). The potential for a letdown will be there. CGM will have to keep them up this week and on edge the whole game. I have no doubt we can beat them, but any lackadaisical mistakes will doom us.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

I don't think this is the kind of team anyone can steamroll. They are a veteran group with nice speed. Their QB needs steady pressure to keep them off balance and punting. Our glaring defect is that we continue to let receivers get past us twenty-five yards downfield.  If we can't stop that I think they could be hanging around at the end (come on special teams)...AGAIN. I'm sure our coaches can keep us grounded and will have the team well prepared Saturday. WDE!

I haven't seen them play much at all.

I sincerely doubt we can steamroll them. They're basically exactly where we are. Like someone said, they only lost to SC in OT when their QB was out. That's not negligible.

If he were able to play that game, they're the only undefeated team in the SEC and likely sitting at #1.

I'm actually weirdly MORE nervous about this game than I was for the Iron Bowl.

All of that said, I hope beyond hopes that we roll them similar to what we did to USC in 10. If we do that and Ohio State barely squeaks past MSU, it'll be hard for us not to jump them, IMO.

It's weird too because of this flawed fucking system we have that refuses to drop Bama more than three spots for losing. If by some miracle, Duke beats FSU and Michigan State beats Ohio State, Alabama will get to a rematch in the championship game to the team that won their division, for the second time in three years, which is beyond retarded. Will be tough figuring out what to cheer for and when. Need one and only one to lose to get to Pasadena and NOT take Bama with us.

My thought process is wishing that OSU wins but barley and we pound Mizz into the ground. Keeps the turds from jumping up and our win puts us over OSU.

It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

At the beginning of the season some friends and I were drunkenly discussing all kinds of possible scenarios for the SECCG. I distinctly remember telling a bammer if they got to Atlanta that I hoped they would get beat by second year Mizzou just to make it as shameful as possible.

I am now scared shitless.
