Thoughts - Week 13

Thoughts - Week 13
« on: November 23, 2013, 11:09:32 PM »
- You cannot keep Will Muschamp on board if you're Florida.  Even with the injuries.

Auburn decided to cut ties with Gene Chizik just two years after he hoisted the BCS Crystal Trophy high over his head.  The reason was because we had a dismal season with absolutely unacceptable losses by Auburn's standards.  Perhaps we wouldn't have fired him one year after, but I wouldn't have been surprised if we experienced 2012's season in 2011 and fired him then too.

And Auburn's all the better for it.

You know the cards have fallen.  The dominoes have toppled.  Will Muschamp is not going to lead Florida into an era of domination like Spurrier and Meyer both did.  His wild behavior on the field is entertaining, but that has cultivated a team of undisciplined players who are incapable of winning consistently.

Even with the numerous injuries, does anyone really believe Georgia Southern has better athletes than Florida?  That would be absurd.

It was preparation.  It was mindset.  It was gameplanning.  It was discipline.

Florida lacked it, and they got burned by a one dimensional team who completed zero passes.

You cut ties and you cut ties immediately after the FSU game.  There are plenty of good coaches out there who can develop a team that is disciplined on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

- What the hell is going on out there?  You know what's going on?  The same shit that's been going on for a few years now.

Everything falling into place for Alabama.

24 hours ago, AJ McCarron's Heisman candidacy was led by the bobo honking of Paul Finebaum and other Alabama beat writers.  The majority of the country laughed it off as a nice gesture to give the kid who had won a lot of games, but he was never a real candidate.

The reason was because so many guys were in front of him that voters would vote for instead of giving it as a lifetime achievement award.

Well....

Marcus Mariota threw his interceptions and got his shit kicked in by Arizona.
Petty is currently getting his shit kicked in by Oklahoma State.
Manziel got his shit kicked in by LSU.
And next week, we'll learn whether or not Winston is going to be charged with a felony or not.

I've seen this show before.  Winston gets charged.  The voters don't like voting for Manziel twice when he's lost three games and had an integrity "issue."  Petty's done.  Mariota's beyond done.

McDouche Tattoo is going to win the Heisman Trophy and usurp Mark Ingram as the worst winner in the history of the trophy.

Unless....

- It's up to us.  And what better way to end the dynasty than to rock the house next Saturday afternoon.

This is how it should be.  We have them exactly where we want them.  There are no excuses.

They're undefeated.  They have a Heisman candidate.  They have strong running backs.  They have a nasty, aggressive, punishing old school defense that has shut out numerous teams.  They've deified their head coach.  They've asserted themselves as superior citizens based on their football affiliation.  They've become obnoxiously arrogant and pompous in their belief that they can tell every fanbase in the SEC how to feel, how to act, and what to believe.

There will be no "They caught us when we were down."  That's out of the question.  This game decides the SEC West and possibly the BCSCG.

It couldn't have a better resolution.  We have to win.  It's in our destiny.  It's the way things should be.

- Both Baylor and Oregon got blown out.  How the hell does that happen?  How do you let that happen?  You're both - especially Baylor - in contention for the BCSCG, and you get your shit rocked like that?  To teams that are supposed to be much below you?

BUT THEY'RE SO FAST!

- The cupcake games need to end.  No football game should feature teams scoring 80 points, and this week featured two.  No fans should be asked to purchase tickets to a game where scoring 60+ is expected, and the shut out is inevitable.  And what's the real benefit of these games?  An easy W?  A break in the schedule without asking for an extra bye week?

You risk injury.  You risk losing.

Just doesn't seem worth it for anyone.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
