It was reported yesterday that after the game on Saturday, a few LSU fans taunted and then shot a man for being an Alabama fan.

Here's a picture of the suspects.  If you can offer any assistance in locating these two LSU fans, please call the Tuscaloosa police.

The al.com article with the picture didn't include any mention that they may not actually be LSU fans.

Investigators in Tuscaloosa release photos of suspects in Saturday night shooting of an Alabama fan
November 12, 2013 at 1:23 PM

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide Unit are asking for help in identifying the two men suspected of shooting a man in both of his legs Saturday night.

The homicide unit, which investigates almost all violent crime in the Tuscaloosa area, released surveillance camera pictures of the two suspects Tuesday morning.

The duo is said to have started a fight with a 30-year-old man at a gas station in Tuscaloosa after mocking him for being an fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. According to investigators, the fight got suddenly serious when at least one of the suspects and the victim both pulled guns and exchanged gunfire at the gas station.

The victim was shot twice, once in each leg, and the suspects left the scene in a small black vehicle. Sgt. Dale Phillips, the commander of the homicide unit, said the victim's injuries were not life-threatening.

Phillips released the photos Tuesday morning and asked for the public's help in identifying the men responsible for the Saturday night gunfight. Anyone with information of the identity or location of the two men is asked to contact the homicide unit, who can be reached at 205-464-8692.

The Tuscaloosa News, however, told the truth.

Investigators: Post-game shooting wasn’t caused by Alabama-LSU rivalry
Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:34 by crime.beat

The two men exiting the store are suspects in a Sunday morning shooting

A shooting victim who said he was targeted for being an Alabama fan was not telling the whole story, investigators now believe.

The 30-year-old Tuscaloosa man told police that he was approached at a gas station early Sunday morning by two men who taunted him for being a University of Alabama fan.

The shooting happened just hours after the Tide’s 38-17 victory over LSU. News reports quickly spread across the Internet due to the rivalry between the two teams and what appeared to be even greater animosity between their fans.

“At this point, there is no indication that this involved anyone from out of this area or anyone associated with the LSU fan base,” said Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit commander Sgt. Dale Phillips. “There has been a lot of interest in this story because of that statement made by the victim.”

Investigators are asking for help to identify these shooting suspects

Investigators watched the shooting unfold on surveillance video from the Shell Station at Greensboro Avenue and Skyland Boulevard. They released still photos Tuesday that picture the two men now identified as suspects.

“It is obvious that no one involved is wearing any school attire,” Phillips said. “This is just something involving local people that possibly spilled over from another incident at a nearby business that was also reported to police.”

Phillips did not name the business or elaborate what was reported.

Surveillance video shows the victim walking into the store and becoming involved in a fist fight with two men who were exiting, Phillips said. There was no time for words to be exchanged, he said, before the suspect and the victim began to exchange gunfire. It is unclear who fired first, he said.

The victim was struck twice in the legs and was treated at DCH Regional Medical Center. There were a few customers in the store and in the parking lot at the time, but none were injured.

“We still have several people to interview and leads to follow up on before we can determine what really caused this altercation,” Phillips said. He isn’t sure whether the men know one another, but said they have “crossed paths at some point.”

“The victim has been very helpful, but there’s still a lot that he needs to help us with,” he said.

Phillips asked that anyone who can identify the shooters pictured in the surveillance video to contact the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit at 205-4664-8690 or 205-752-0616, Tuscaloosa County CrimeStoppers at 205-752-STOP (7867) or any local law enforcement agency.

Look like they're wearing red and black attire to me.

And some oddly colored ghey sweater vests.

One of the most desperate attempts at getting back for a real fucking news story I've ever seen.  An Alabama fan teabags an LSU fan in a restaurant, and they wanted so bad for this to be the "We can do whatever we want to you because you're just as bad as us."

May the NCAA forever continue to enable this cult to thrive.
