They don't drop games to Iowa State either, but nobody could convince you (and others) of that last year.
They also haven't already lost to the team that is guaranteed being in the game, when other one loss teams had yet to prove on the field that they would lose to them.

Comparing Stanford to Mississippi State is just dumb.

Oregon - I'm glad they are gone now. Tired of hearing about the fast as hell Ducks. Good riddance.

Now if only LSU could do us all a favor and sink the Tahd ship.

Mississippi State's quarterback has a better arm and is more elusive than Stanford's.
State's offensive line is at least equal to Stanford's.
State's defensive line is better than Stanford's.

That mohawked white linebacker for Stanford?  In the SEC, he's Jake Holland.

State could score on them.

State and Stanford would be a good game.  Old fashioned.  Not sure I wouldn't pick State.

Was just listening to a few minutes of Colin Cowherd.  Most times, he's a blowhard but mildly entertaining.  Funny to hear him put Oregon (TJSF) in perspective.  Basically saying the world finally accepts them for what they are and should never buy into the hype again.

But every year, ESPN does.

But every year, ESPN does.

And they will again next year.

Without Oregon, the Pac 12 isn't even in the conversation for the BCS championship game.  Oregon knows how to score a lot of points against inferior teams, which put them in the argument.  The Pac 12 right now is no different than the Big 10, and even ESPN has written off Ohio State as being a real contender.

The following conferences feature a bunch of shitty teams with one or two good ones that appear dominant:

Pac 12
Big 10
Big 12
ACC

The SEC has 7 or 8 teams that could compete for the conference title in each of those conferences.  Georgia even with their injuries has more quality athletes and better facilities and higher expectations than the majority of the teams in those conference.  Florida even with their injuries and ineptitude on offense would still beat the majority of those teams.  Auburn would BE Oregon in the Pac 12 if we were in that conference.  South Carolina, LSU, and Texas A&M could all go 8-0 in those conferences except the ACC because of Florida State and Clemson.  Fuck Alabama.

SEC fans know it, but the rest of college football doesn't realize it yet.  ESPN has to keep the veil on or the sport will take a hit.  If Oregon fans and Pac 12 followers really understood that their best will never beat our best, they would quit giving so much support.

To expand a bit on that -

The following teams from each conference have zero shot and will never have a shot at competing for the national title:

Pac 12:

Washington
Washington State
Arizona
Arizona State
Oregon State
California
Colorado
UCLA (unless USC dies in a fire)

Big 10:

Indiana
Illinois
Michigan State
Wisconsin
Penn State
Iowa
Minnesota
Northwestern
Purdue

Big 12:

Iowa State
Texas Tech
Kansas
Kansas State
TCU
West Virginia

ACC:

North Carolina
North Carolina State
Duke
Boston College
Maryland
Pittsburgh
Syracuse
Virginia
Wake Forest
Virginia Tech

SEC:

Vanderbilt
Mississippi State
Ole Miss
Missouri

I'd also argue that Clemson, Oregon, Stanford, nor Oklahoma State could produce a team that is good enough to beat the SEC's best team though those programs do see to put together teams that are very good and have separated themselves from their shitty conferences.  I'd put Nebraska on the list of "can't win a title anymore" but their success in the 90s still carries over.

I would leave Missouri off the list, and would definitely add Kentucky to the very top.

Sadly, you can't convince Oregon fans of that.  FSU would go apeshit on Oregon as well.  I honestly believe that a vast majority of my own fanbase is retarded, but I think the Oregon fanbase is right up there with them.  And they have no reason for it, either.  Oregon scores a fuckton of points on crappy Pac-12 teams that would lose to 3/4 of the SEC, and they typically lose or really struggle with any team that is decent.

So does everybody outside turd town.

Forgot about Kentucky.  I'm not sold on Missouri being a championship caliber program just because they have a good team this year that caught an injury plagued Georgia team and an inept Florida team.

I really should add A&M cause withoit Manziel, they can't do much.

Not willing to say anybody "can't win a title anymore".  Judging by the '70's Auburn never should have been relevant again.  Plus you still have a few teams up there that did win titles in the '90's.  Most notably to me Washington and Colorado.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

This isn't the 70s or the 90s.

Maybe Washington could sneak into the playoff if enough teams lose, but I still guarantee the best SEC team that year would beat Washington's best team if they're playing for a trophy.

Exactly. Neither of those teams would have won in today's format.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

That was not the point that year. Out point was a national champion should be crowned without winning their own conference or fucking division...
