A coworker of mine went with his two brothers to a thrift shop and got some gloriously ugly sweaters and went to a photo studio and told them they wanted some Olan Mills '80's pictures made.  That was their Christmas present to their parents.  It was awesome.

Speaking of Christmas photos, for years my brother (Not my BIL) and a bunch of his friends would get together and make some crazy picture and send it as their Christmas card to everyone.  Just off the wall stuff like all of them wearing Santa or elf (The girls) outfits while standing in line at a Port-O-Shitter.  There was always the same plastic Rudolph blow-up figure hidden somewhere in the picture.  Stupid but funny as hell.  Much better than getting the standard Christmas card picture of someone's happy family and two golden retrievers.
