Week 10 Fears. Rational or no?

This Auburn - Arkansas gives me the herbs. Not sure why, but it does.

The whole GameDay panel (including the Abercrombie model country singer guest) picked Auburn to win. Anyone nervous because of this?

Not really. On paper it's a no brainer. But it's arky and weirder things have happened with them.

Tally just ran by again.....

Right...like a fucking out of left field, blindsided Twilight Zone for some ranked AU teams-a veritable stake in the heart for a couple under Tubs.

Put it this way. I fear this unassuming little pig sty far more than the whole Baton Rouge mystique.

ie.  So we show up and I'm thinking we are prepared but we get scored on twice in 5 minutes by an UNK kid AU and the Turds passed on from some bumfuck town in Alabama. It was like a blur, happened faster than Jeremy Hill this season. Never recovered!

Another time it snowed and we altogether forgot that the game of football is played mostly outdoors. Never in it!

Not really sure how this game is going to go.

My concerns:

1.  Alex Collins reminds us that Jake Holland is our starting MLB.
2.  Our pass defense continues to give up big plays.
3.  A bad injury.
4.  Jeremy Johnson has to start and isn't the phenom we expect him to be.
5.  Gus gets cute thinking he can put up a bunch of points.

We win easily if...

1.  We come in with a basic offensive gameplan where we pound the ground and hit the occasional play action pass deep.
2.  We make extra sure we stop their running game up the middle.
3.  We play zone.
4.  Limit the risks.  Take advantage of our punter.

It's Arkansas.  For some reason, they beat us a lot.

We should win going away but this is on foreign soil. And like THS said we needn't get cute (going all Curly Hallman or something) and need to do exactly as we've been doing. The fuckers shouldn't beat us up the middle and we needn't drop one as a 'backer to combat a passing attack as we've been doing lately. At worst we overload up front and cheat one up close and handle them with Man. And hopefully we come out healthy.

Somebody will try it.  Most likely Ark. or UT.  Not saying it will be successful, and that we can't deal with it, but if I'm Ark. or UT, with nothing to lose, I force Auburn to pass to win.  Commit 7, 8 and even 9 to the box, play cover 0, blitz and try to beat the shit out of our WRs.   Don't think Ark. can pull it off without some strange shit happening.

Agree. Our guy is barely above 50%. It's HIS running ability that makes his passing work, not the rest of the run game. He is very good on the move and only so-so in a standard drop.

Is this the official game thread?

So far, Arkansas is proving me right.  We're getting beat because we can't tackle or even get to them right now.  Their running backs are two of the best we'll see all year, and we don't get a hat on them quickly, we're going to be in trouble.

And this is exactly what goes haywire in Fayettenam- run the reverse, stick with the option and throw on the indifferent downs.
