Revisiting Pre-Season Predictions
« on: October 29, 2013, 12:13:25 PM »
I could swear we had a prediction thread, but damned if I can find it.

The Auburn Tigers are sitting at 7-1 (3-1) two-thirds (roughly 62.4%) of the way through the season.

I think I called 8 regular season wins with a possible bowl win to hit 9 for this season and feeling pretty good about hitting that goal.  Admittedly, though, I am pretty shocked at the quality of the recovery effort by Gus.

Anyone want to join me in patting themselves on the back or perhaps admitting to their gloomy predictions?

I thought 9 & 4, with loses to LSU-A&M-UGA-and turds but a bowl win.

If we win big this weekend we should be ok till we get to the Iron bowl.

I think I said @ 6 wins but allowed that if a QB panned out we might be better than that.  Never thought we would be where we are now.

I don't recall if I predicted a win total.  I do remember saying that I'd be satisfied if we were competitive again.  I can take a loss if we can look at it and say, "If we had just done this or, if that one play hadn't...."  I've left blowouts early. (When AU is on the good end)  But, last year was the first time I've gotten up and walked out early in disgust.

I might not have predicted a win total but I do recall thinking those of you who said 10+ wins were suffering delusions from the side effects of teh goat aids.

It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Pretty sure I said we would be 7-1 at this point but I think I had us winning against LSU and losing to TAMU. I also said that we'd lead the conference in rushing, have a much improved defense and start 5 black QB's in one game. It's on here somewhere.

Damn it to hell people.  You can't start 5 different players at one position.  You are bringing the overall IQ of this board down.

Well if you want to get all technikul and all with the wording, no. They didn't start. If you wanna get all literal, you can literally lick my ass where it looks like a fig.

Labor day game stayed for that great overtime victory against that powerhouse ULM.

A&M game left at half time.

Don't think I watched any part of a game after A&M.

I said 14 wins was indeed possible.  Over a 2 year period.

I will admit I am shocked that we are where we are.  I thought we would be somewhere around 5-7 wins, depending on QB play.  As an Auburn fan I am always "All In" and I am excited to see what this season brings.

However, I also want to see long term results.

Not that you can't read it in the other thread, but I said I'd be upset with 6 wins or less.

This is true.

I said that 7 wins would be acceptable, but nothing to get excited about.

This is true.

I said 8 wins or more would have me excited.

This is true.

I said that I expected this to happen.

And here we are.

This is my back.

I said 7 was par for course in regular season. Anything more and Gus has exceeded any expectation. Well, Gus has exceeded. Also, I think there's more disparity in the SEC than anyone thought. Doesn't hurt.

I'm to the point now where I will be very angry if we lose to Arkansas or Tennessee.

A few weeks ago, I wouldn't have been surprised to see us struggle against Florida Atlantic.

But the offense is dynamic and polished enough now that we should not see another game where we score less than 28 points until the Iron Bowl.
