Earlier, one of you posted the pic of the rock in Tennessee that was painted up in Crimpsum. Honestly, until that was posted, I knew nothing of said rock or it's meaning to UT fans. Not making fun of it and Lord knows, we took enough crap as AU fans because after all, "They're just trees". Whether it's a rock or trees or a Quad or a Grove, traditions are the very fiber of what college football is all about. So, if this rock is a part of UT tradition and if it really was painted up (Was it really painted or was that a photoshop...some parts were lighter) that's a damn crappy thing to do.
So I axe, Who is Charles Hollis? Scanning the al's to the dot kums...I see a prediction piece written by this guy and the following was the first part of it. Didn't post his predictions. Just thought it looked like another, "Get over it. It's just a F'n rock" take. Am I reading too much into his comments? Anywayz...
This "Red Rock" thing the Tennessee Vols have going in Knoxville, pretty ridiculous.
Somebody, presumably an Alabama fan, painted The Rock, a Tennessee landmark, in crimson this week with a pro-Alabama message on it. If you know THAT LINE in "Rammer Jammer," the Crimson Tide's postgame national anthem of sorts, you get the picture of what was written on The Rock.
This is one of those rivalry week attacks meant to pump up the team that's a 28-point underdog against top-ranked Alabama, which has beaten Tennessee the past six seasons.
Another sign the Vols are grasping for motivation? They have been referring to Alabama as "the red team" in practice this week, refraining from saying the school's real name.
That's so Woody Hayes.
Since CBS chose to make Tennessee-Alabama its afternoon national game, our theory is this is some CBS ploy to bring in a few more viewers.
