Great story.

Quote
Auburn’s new homecoming queen has a ridiculously inspirational life story
BY CLIFF SIMS

Over the weekend, Auburn University’s student body elected Molly Anne Dutton the school’s 100th Miss Homecoming, and boy what a story this young woman has to tell.

A couple of decades ago, Dutton’s biological mother, who was living in California at the time, was the victim of a sexual assault that resulted in her becoming pregnant. She was given an ultimatum by her husband: either abort the baby, or face divorce.

Lifeline Children’s Services, a Birmingham-based Christian adoption agency, got involved and helped the woman through her courageous decision to keep the baby and put her up for adoption instead of aborting.

This past weekend, the little girl born into those tough circumstances was elected her university’s homecoming queen after running on a platform entirely devoted to adoption advocacy.

“Because that resource was made available to my mother, she decided to give birth to me,” Dutton said. “And here I am talking to you guys 22 years later.”

“Light Up LIFE” was Dutton’s slogan, the perfect summation of her campaign’s goal to spread the word that adoption can bring light into a dark situation. It took Auburn’s campus by storm.

On a related note, Lifeline’s 11th annual fundraising dinner is coming up Nov. 7 in Birmingham. Team Yellowhammer will be there in full force and would love to have you join us. This is a no-brainer cause to get behind. Check out Lifeline’s website for more information.

Nah. Abortion is easier. I mean somebody had to feed this child. And now they have to pay for school and everything. I mean, a lot of life could have been avoided if the mom would have just did what she was told.....

Sadly there are people who think that would have been the right choice. Each life is special and should be given the opportunity to be who God intended for them to be. Thank goodness for organizations that enable young women to be able to make a valiant choice. And thank goodness for loving homes that are ready to accept and nurture these children.

Congrats to her. She seems beautiful on the inside and out. She will represent AU well.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

My wife goes to a weekly women's Bible study at our church.  One of the other ladies works at Choose Life (non-profit organization who try to provide women with alternatives to abortion, if you're in the southeast you might have seen their license plates).  Just this week she said that one of the biggest reasons given that black women are choosing abortion over adoption is "I don't want to know that some of my relatives are floating around out there", meaning  I don't want a child out there not being cared for.  My wife brought this article to her and she is trying to contact Miss Dutton to get her to speak to some of the young women that come to them for help.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.
