Could there seriously be a correlation between Mack and Chiz? Chizik was a helluva coach until he worked for  Texas. Hmmmmm. Same type of stud qb carried both coaches to a nc. Both seem to know very little discipline and their teams have no toughness. Both were lost without their stud players and coaches.  Just curious if Gene modeled a lot of his hc philosophy after Mack. If so, big mistake.

I think any time the wheels fall off it looks pretty much the same.  FWIW, I've never thought Mack was all he was cracked up to be.  Remind me again how many Conference titles Texas has won while he was there?   Doesn't he have the same number of national titles as the unemployed Chizik despite perpetually having tons more talent and a much weaker conference?

Having watched this one in the stadium we are not a good football team, better than last year but we are too inconsistent on offense and the defense has too many holes in it.  Our biggest problem on D is as has been stated our Linebacker play.  Holland is terrible I'm over seeing #5 on the field.  Not sure why Frost did not start the second half.  Not sure about a lot of coaching decisions.  Not sure why Adams doesn't get more snaps either.  I'm not a coach so I'll trust the decisions being made.

Two things I really don't understand are 1 our offensive play calling.  Some drives we look great and when Marshall gets going we allow him to cool off.  He is a better QB than we have had the last 2 years I just wish he could judge the long ball.  Receivers are better but dropping too many balls that should be easy completions.  And 2, why in the hell do we not have a punt block play.  I have not seen it in 3 games. We had 2 opportunities to go for a block in the 4th quarter down by 3 and we put zero pressure on the kicker.

What makes me mad is that a team like Miss State calls out our D and we do nothing to shut them up.  4th quarter, 4th and 2 at the 20 your up by 3 and you go for it?  That tells me all I need to know about our run defense.

I don't ink we go 9-3, but besides LSU, Georgia, and Alabama, who is a guaranteed loss?  A&M?  Ok.  8-4.  Pretty good turn around from 3-9.

Arkansas could gash us on the ground.  Tennessee won't beat us.  Ole Miss ain't anything special.  They beat Vandy and 2012 Auburn Austin Edition.  We get them at home.

I'm saying 8-4.  We keep improving.  Upset one of the big three.  Lose to one we don't expect.

I'm with you.

I say nearly impossible we beat UGA, A&M, or Bammer.

I consider LSU a very possible W. I'd say about a 45% chance, only because we play them in Death Valley. I give us about a 55% chance of beating Ole Miss because we get them at home. Neither of them have really been tested, despite their rankings.

We WILL beat UT & Ark. And of course our two remaining cupcakes.

I say minimum 7, max 9, so most likely 8.

What makes you say that?

I started to get that feeling.  But I remembered 2011.  I remembered thinking, "We're ripe for the upset!"  And we got our doors blown off.

I'm not allowing myself to do that again.  Sure they've played nothing but cupcakes all year, and sure they're still coached by Les Miles.

But we haven't beaten them in Death Valley since the 90s.

And they're still mighty LSU. And it's still in Baton Rouge. Their cupcake wins aside, I think they're a solid fb team. Miles is a dumbass but I like that fucker. His players play hard for him. We could pull the upset but I think it would require LSU to lay a dud.

I didn't read all of the above because, truthfully, aren't we all mainly waiting to see what I have to say?

I'm just happy to get the win and I think we will definitely get to a bowl game now.

Marshall, despite the cursing that I gave him for missing the WIDE ASS OPEN touchdown throw AGAIN--deserved player of the game. Clutch drive and for the most part took good care of the ball--even though it took some luck.

LSU will run it down our throat like the State qb, only x 3. We have a shot against them if Marshall gets hot and we out score em in a shoot out. It's a lucky shot but a shot nonetheless.

The only way we have a shot against A&M or Bama is if we get 3 or 4 free agent LB's.

I like our chances against Ole Piss, Arky, Tn and Ga. I think we can keep it relatively close and pull a few of those out.

Important take away: we is going bowling this year, which means good things for next year. Carry on.

There is no way you can give the passing an A.
The one overthrow alone should drop it a notch.  You NEVER miss that throw!
QB running was closer to an A in my book.

It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

That overthrow to a wide open receiver happens a lot around the country in both College & NFL, it's called being too open. If the QB has a cannon arm like Marshall, added excitement and rush of adrenaline because the guy is so open, a lot of times causes the QB to put to much on it and overthrow the guy. I don't mind that overthrow, just wish it would've happened earlier in the game. Long bombs like that make the DC think twice about walking the Safeties up...So, yeah Marshall missed a couple receivers (notice I'm not counting the dropped passes against him).
23/29 339yds 2tds 1int is a (A) in my book all day long. (I didn't count the 5 dropped passes or the 1int at the end of the 1st half).

Gamers don't miss that throw.  Not saying he will not be a gamer....In fact the last two minutes of that game may well have put him on his way to having the confidence to be that go to guy.  That was overthrown by almost ten yards.

What concerns me is by how much he has overthrown open receivers and his motion. I think he will have a lot of tipped balls at the los in Sec play. But that last drive did a lot for my confidence in him.
