Arkansas State is chirping about dominating Auburn. 

Arkansas State. 

Got nothing to lose.  Gonna be fired up.  AU is about the same as Arkansas Pine Bluff.  APB would have whipped Washington State, no doubt.   This is the same Arkansas Pine Bluff that lost to Alabama A&M and Tennessee State a year ago. 

Yeah, the same Alabama A&M that the worst team in AU football history destroyed 51-7. 

ASU would be a 40-point underdog to SC, LSU, UAT, A&M, UGA....  But they're confident they won't just win, but will dominate us.

I actually think we may go into halftime with a 2 or 3 score lead, but I fear that we may let off the gas a little in the second half and let Auburn come back to make it a close one.

 

And they very well may put it on us but their confidence in doing it is bewildering.

They're basing it on the beating they put on Arkansas Pine Bluff.  Figuring they're at best no worse than Washington State (and I submit WSU would beat them straight up with ease) and figuring we're about the same level as Pine Bluff.  Pine Bluff isn't up to Alabama A&M standards and as previously noted, the worst Auburn team in 50+ years, with Clunk Moseley calling the shots, massacred A&M. 

I may be way, way wrong but I see this as along the same lines as New Mexico State.

If we struggle -- at all -- it's going to be a long year.

Flip the freaking schedules.  The worst Auburn team in my lifetime wins 10 games or more.  One of the best Arkansas Technical School teams in the school's history goes 2-10.   

Last year's magical Gus-led Arkansas State team LOST to Western Kentucky at home.

As bad as Auburn was last year is there any possible scenario where you can see that team losing to Western freaking Kentucky at JHS? 

You know I'm one of the most cautious, worried people in the world.   I don't think we'll slap 70 on them or hold them scoreless, but if this thing isn't on cruise control by the third quarter I'll be surprised.  And pissed.

Hope they enjoy shutting up now.  Punks. Went about like I thought it would.  Despite the hoorah by the announcers, it was clear to me early on that ASU wasn't in the same league and wouldn't be a legitimate threat.  When a team is down 21-6, you, as an announcer, shouldn't be tooting the "come in to Jordan Hare and pull off the upset" horn like those two clowns were. 

We still haven't gotten the bugs worked out or it could have been 60-9. 

BTW, for the second week in a row we had the worst announcers in the history of football.  Tim Couch is a complete tool.  The guy with the vampire hair was just an idiot. 

Be glad when we get good enough again to get the real announcers.   These yipping dogs make me yearn for Ace and Gary.
