Arkansas State is chirping about dominating Auburn.

Got nothing to lose.  Gonna be fired up.  AU is about the same as Arkansas Pine Bluff.  APB would have whipped Washington State, no doubt.   This is the same Arkansas Pine Bluff that lost to Alabama A&M and Tennessee State a year ago. 

Yeah, the same Alabama A&M that the worst team in AU football history destroyed 51-7. 

ASU would be a 40-point underdog to SC, LSU, UAT, A&M, UGA....  But they're confident they won't just win, but will dominate us.

They may be right.  Depending on how bad our middle linebackers play, it could be a long game.

I don't think they'll have enough speed and size to stop our offense, but it very well may be a shootout.  I have zero faith that we will stop their run game especially between the tackles.

The reality of this is that I think Jake would be a quality player at a place like ASU.  He'd be a borderline star. 

Years ago we had a kid playing for us who couldn't crack the top three of the depth chart at LB.  We were a 1A school.  He wasn't strong enough, wasn't fast enough, couldn't react quickly enough.  Tough kid, knew the assignments but just couldn't get where he was supposed to be. And the few times he could get there, he was overmatched. Way too slow for the defensive backfield, too small for the line.    Tried all spring to work with him in hopes he could play LB.  He just couldn't do it. 

Transferred to the private school over the summer.  AISA AA ball.  Starting linebacker. Dominated.  Made the AISA All State team as a junior and a senior.  Was the same slow, weak kid, but was in a league filled with slower, weaker ones.

That's Jake.  At ASU, Rice, BC, Tulane.... he could hold his own.  Just not in the SEC.

Jake is a diversion, a lure viewed as easy pickings. Spider-fly! I've got this all figured out.  They start popping us with the short stuff and we end up with another defensive player of the week. It's as simple as that.

All indications are this team will come right at you.  I doubt there will 17% or 2/8ths the assignments there were for WSU.  Jake does not need to play.  McKinzy and Frost should get 95% or 11/14ths of all the snaps.

As far as the game this weekend, I agree with GF, I'm thinking we will win this game by 21 points or more. I honestly believe we will see Marshall come lighting things up.
