KF most assuredly did not "suck ass" in high school.
What did he suck?

So did Kiehl Frazier...half of that at least. And we might as well have been a JUCO last year.
I was excited when Frazier signed with us...he was a outstanding HS QB, but that didn't translate to the D1 level too well. It may have been because he was playing in a system that he'd never played in before and got the shit beat outta him...due to the fact that the system that was in place called for powerful offensive linemen and that's a really bad thing when our strongest guy was a Illinois Sophmore transfer FB Jay Prosch and the second strongest was incoming Freshman OL Christian Westerman.

Back to Marshall...he's played QB at a higher level than HS and done so really well and he's played in the SEC, so he has seen the D1 speed.

At practice Saturday.  If CGM was looking at that practice as the deciding factor in the QB race, it was Marshall in a landslide.  However, I imagine the decision had been made already because NM ran exclusively with the 1's....JJ with the 2's and Wallace with the 3's.

Johnson looked like penis.  So did Wallace.  In the scrimmage type situation, Marshall threw about 25 passes and I don't recall an incomplete.  And when he ran, there were a lot of woots.  I understand his JUCO corch saying he do have good Manzielability.  Rocket arm and shitcherpants quick.  Have no idea how he'll perform in a couple of weeks but Saturday, he was damn good.

A few notes:

The LB's were running a few drills going side to side, stepping over tackling dummies, shedding a block and hitting the runner.  McKinzy looked like an NFL LB, quick as a cat and explosive.  Jake looked like my grandmother, who has been dead for 15 years.

The 3 freshmen defensive linemen are all full grown men.  Carl Lawson is put together like a ton of bricks.  They were running drills with one D-lineman getting double teamed and having to fight all the way through and then one-on-one. I watched Lawson and Greg Robinson go twice against each other.  Lawson gets shot out of a cannon...but Robinson stonewalled his ass both times.  We've got a bunch of tall, lean linemen.  And then there's Greg Robinson.  6'5" 320 and moves like a cat.  He would be the one guy on this squad that I would predict is NFL ready.  Patrick Miller ran with the 1's Saturday.  This did not make me happy.

Our receivers looked damn good.  Coates, Denson and Louis ran with the 1's but they worked in Fr. Marcus Davis a lot.  Did not see Bray or Reed at all.  Don't know if they were nursing injuries or what.  Just didn't see them.  The "scrimmage" was all passing so I didn't get to see anything with the running game, but they threw quite a few passes to Tre Mason, who looked damn skippy.

One thing of note is the players are noticeably in better shape.  The linemen on both sides of the ball are bigger and stronger. Montravaliciousness Adams is a unique looking 300+ dude.  Small waist and no fat.  (His shower scenes were spectacular) All the D-linemen look like they really put in the offseason work.

Found out that Erique Florence is no longer at AU because...he's just a sorry ass.  Doesn't like to put in the work, won't hit the weight room and is just plain disrespectful.  Showed up at Troy weighing maybe 175.  Sad for someone with that much talent.

It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I will pistol whip the next one who says Gus Bus.

I've kind of stayed away from the predictions threads because I have no idea after the last couple of seasons.  I think we're much better but chrish-on-a-cracka....we have to be.  With a huge upgrade at QB and Malzahn running his offense, I'm pumped about seeing the scoreboard light up again on the good guys' side.  Everything points to us being better on defense and they certainly look the part, but damn, I still have a bad taste in my mouth after last season.  Or that could be the blowjob I gave that homeless guy.

Seriously, I'm not 100% sure if this means good or bad.

If bad, this is not good news for next year. Particularly Johnson. Heh. I said Johnson. But on the real, I had heard he was supposed to be Cam 2.0. Sounds like that's a no.
