During the last five years, the Tigers went 17-23 in the SEC.
That’s worse than the five-year Doug Barfield era. It’s worse than the last four years of Terry Bowden plus Tommy Tuberville’s first year. It’s the program’s worst five-year record in the conference since the transition from Earl Brown to Shug Jordan in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
Holy mother of pearl. That's unacceptable.
Yeah, it's skewed a little. It includes Tuberville's crash and burn 2008 year and Chizik's titanic. But it also includes 8-0 in 2010.
Brandon Cox wouldn’t make any short list of the greatest quarterbacks in school history, but he was Auburn’s last opening-day starter in consecutive years in 2005, 2006 and 2007. In that three-year period, the Tigers went 29-9 overall and 18-6 in the league. They finished one win short of reaching the SEC Championship Game in 2005 and 2006, and they finished in the top 15 in the country all three years.
Oh, and Auburn won more SEC games in the three-year Cox era than it has in the five years since.
Define short.
Greatest AU QBs list would include Cox.
Cam, Sullivan, Craig, Slack, old guy, Cox, Campbells (Jason and Randy) who else?
