BTW, Chizik installed "Beat Bama" on that wall 3 years ago, when we did that quite regularly.

Seems like a hundred years, or better yet, 84 points ago.

My point is simple - make the sign BEAT EVERYBODY. Just feeding the fire of the unwashed masses.

I care.

One is a ticky-tacked poster reminding a team of how talented they were and how close they came to beating the national champions.

The other is a series of Fathead letters reminding a team of what they're working for.  I don't care if Chizik put it up there or not.  It needs to come down.

We had that kind of stuff up in the past. The focus never shifted from bama. No matter who you were preparing for, you were always preparing for bama. The difference today is that some of you who have never seen the inside of these meeting rooms, are getting to see it for the first time. The wonderful thing about technology is that it gives us another needless thing to bitch about.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Disagree. I like it.

Don't think it's anything new. I see no shame in "Beat Bama" even being a secondary battle cry to War Eagle, for that matter. They're our #1 rival. Wouldn't think "Beat Michigan" would be out of place in an OSU team meeting room. Wouldn't think "Beat Duke" would be strange in a UNC basketball team meeting room, etc. etc. If bammers get chuckles out of it, let them knock themselves out. If it contributes even 1% of the team psyche of the importance to BEAT BAMA when that game comes around, I'm all for it.

I agree.  That was step one of the "Sabanation" plan, so why shouldn't it be step one of the Malzahnation plan as well?

I realize that "Beat anybody with a pulse" should be the first worry of this team, but I really have no problem knowing that the staff and players have beating the updykes in the back of their minds all the time anyway.

I would only add "occasionally, please." to the end. Or, "When can we expect you to" at the beginning.

This, and the "NEVER AGAIN" quote was more or less a reminder to never let an opponent come back and embarass you in your house when you're in complete control.  Same type thing was done after the ULM loss.

As far as the BEAT BAMA thing?  Meh, whatever floats your goat.  Let's be honest, beating Auburn was pretty fucking high up on Alabama's priority list when Saban was hired, and it still is. Sure, beat everybody, but beat Alabama is a more immediate goal and is a rallying point mentally for the players I think.  They relate to that a little better than beat The Citadel or whatever.

I went to a dinner thingy one night in Auburn with a meet/greet with Tuberville.  In his speech, he didn't mince words when he said, "Our #1 priority is beating Alabama. We know that every year."

That's college football, folks.
