Auburn Homer Thread - Auburn's All-Time Team Beats All Other SEC All-Time Teams

I have a theory that Auburn's all-timers are better than every other SEC team's all-timers.

To prove this, I'm going to need a little help starting with Auburn's best players of all time.

Only use players that dominated during college.  NFL ability can only be considered during tie-breakers, and NFL ability can only be considered if a player was drafted high based on college performance.  So for example, if we were using Michigan, they could not use Tom Brady as their best quarterback.  Further, Jim Harbaugh would be considered the better choice than Tom Brady for Michigan's all-time quarterback because Harbaugh dominated during college and was drafted in the 1st round of the NFL draft based on his college performance.

What am I missing with Auburn? Who do I have wrong?  Especially with older guys whom I did not have the pleasure of watching.

QB - Cam Newton
RB - Bo Jackson
RB - Carnell Williams
FB - Heath Evans or Fred Beasley
WR - Terry Beasley
WR - Courtney Taylor
WR - Frank Sanders
TE - Walter Reeves (?)
LT - Marcus McNeil
LG - Ben Grubbs
C - ?????
RG - Zeke Smith
RT - Lee Ziemba

DE - Quentin Groves
DT - Nick Fairley
DT - Tracy Rocker
DE - Gerald Robinson
LB - Aundray Bruce
LB - Takeo Spikes
LB - Karlos Dansby
CB - Carlos Rogers
CB - Corey Barlow
SS - Junior Rosegreen
FS - Brian Robinson

K - Wes Byrum
P - Lewis Colbert

Returner - James Brooks
Punt Returner - Alexander Wright

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Now I may be an idiot, but there is one thing I am not, sir, and that, sir, is an idiot.

Any ideas for center?

Jackie Burkett?  I'd rather go modern.

James Brooks at returner.

Two backs that probably would have a chance to replace Carnell Williams are Joe Cribbs and Brent Fullwood.  Joe Cribbs rushed for over 1,000 yards in his junior and senior seasons (30 TD's combined) but shared the backfield with James Brooks and William Andrews.  Not enough carries to go around.  Brent Fullwood played in Bo's shadow most of his time at Auburn but was an All American the year he got to tote the rock by himself.

I thought about that, but Carnell Williams was able to be the guy when one of Auburn's other best running backs was also in the backfield.

I think they're interchangeable though.

I'll argue William Andrews needs a shot, although he mostly blocked while at AU. And Tommy Powell def belongs on here.

Agreed.  I think you have to put Carnell in the top 2 or 3. Just saying if those guys didn't have to share the carries, they might have set some big time records.

Andrews was bad ass but had the Brandon Jacobs syndrome.  He wasn't going to get the carries over James Brooks and Joe Cribbs any more than Jacobs was going to beat out Caddy and Ronnie.  Andrews proved himself when he got to the Falcons, though.  He went from fullback in college to the man in the NFL.

On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk
To get motel parking lot, balcony crunk.

I is  talking about Andrews at FB. He paved the way for the only 3 man all NFL backfield we've ever had, at least I assume. I don't know of any other collegiate wishbone backfield this good either.
