It could.  I know that some ex-military on here has made comments about being in the DMZ.  One of my neighbor's (ex Ranger) and his last post was Truce Village on the North and South border.  From the stories that he told it is amazing the propaganda that the people of North Korea buy into and believe.

He said they used to watch the North Korean news on TV for kicks.  One cold night another officer and he took some hot soup out to the guys manning the wall.  They carried it in some of those old school stainless steel thermos bottles.  When he got back to his barracks there was picture of him on TV holding a thermos with the caption "Americans deliver chemical weapons to the border."

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

Jawdrop. We have cameras there as well. Camp Liberty Bell is were I was for a while in 1983 and the propaganda would literally fall out of the sky over night. The PFC White story was still fresh when I was there along with the Lt. that got axed to death clearing trees and brush on the DMZ  (Soldier of Fortune Magazine). I still remember three NK troops filled with M60 rounds floating up from the bottom of the river showing up at 121 hospital for autopsy. There's nasty shit at the bottom of that fucking river. We should just nuke their asses because they have no oil or anything else to offer and that faggot leader of theirs is causing unneeded suffering. It would be a relief to everyone involved. Hell, just a neutron bomb would work. But no, our authoritarian leaders want to use this against us.

It's just authoritarian takeover, nothing more to see here. Move along.  We're fucked:

On another note, we had missile silos all over South Korea in the 80's and I'm not sure which ones are still there. There were at least six surrounding the Seoul Tower alone.

Frankly, that would be a good thing. Take NOLA with them too.

I ask myself this question, besides the fact that the north is pissed about the south no being communist, for what reason does North Korea hate us so much as to kill our representatives in DC. Do they like  the American people, but hate our government as much as we do? maybe they just want some Doritios???

Um, wait, so there are people here who think they actually have a missile capable of hitting DC much less one carrying a nuclear payload?

I don't think they have a missle that could hit the ground without blowing up before. But wiping out washington would give me cause to be happy.   #winning

I know you're (kind of) kidding, but this is anti-American and borderline treasonous, IMO.

If Michael Moore said that in 2004, you'd agree.

I ran out of pills and just got out of the hospital so cut me some slack. However, if I remember correctly my oath of enlistment states as such.

Quote
"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." (Title 10, US Code; Act of 5 May 1960 replacing the wording first adopted in 1789, with amendment effective 5 October 1962).

Notice the wording. The Blcak Law Dictionary and Google are excellent sources for definitions should you need one. Don't read into to it, or add or subtract from it. It is what it is. Not more, not less.

It sounds to me like the old man is having some Korean War flashbacks. How that is correlated with Naw'Lins, I have not clue. Are there that many North Koreans down there?
