IF they hired Smart.. why not pursue BP as an OC??? A first time HC in the hardest division in FBS to clean up the worst mess in the SEC. Oh man doesn't it sound like a winning combination?? Also I think Smart is a little spoiled with getting the 4 and 5 star talent on defense.. bammer usually looks like garbage against a spread or air raid offense that's worth a damn.

I'm a nobody.. and in no way shape or form claim to know or guess what one would be thinking.. but I would've guessed that Bo would've preferred Charlie Strong for multiple reasons. Oh well, with JJ involved I wouldn't be surprised if someone's "skreetz" claimed we were hiring the corpse of Captain Kangaroo.

Don't know if the proported offer of 3.2M for Smart is correct seeing how Malzahn commanded such a large figure by his last year as the OC.

This is Malzahn money. Just find it a peculiar number at the going rate in this league.

Jughead never intended to make a splash hire, never seriously interviewed bigger names and is going to fuck Auburn over again. He could get lucky but the Auburn HC job is better than this.

BOBBY PETRINO SHOULD BE ON THE A LIST, not a fallback guy when no real head coaching experience is in the mix.

Considering that Alabama hired Saban for $4 million per year in 2007, I wouldn't say that $3.2 million is a lowball offer for a guy who has never been a HC. If AU is paying Smart that much money, then your AD is a fucktard.

Concur and Jacobs is lowrating Auburn by not making a hire that pays top dollar. Understand my comment has nothing to do with the B and C list coaches aspiring for a top notch job but how Jacobs is failing to set the bar high by talking to more experienced winning HCs.
