Aaaannnd Auburn shoots 26% in the second half and scores a grand total of 56 points to lose again...at home against Texas A&M. 9-17 and 3-10 in the SEC. I believe at one point, this team was 8-7 and 2-0 in the league.
Obviously, this season is kaput, just like the last 10 or 12 or 15 seasons. What the hayull is wrong with Auburn basketball? New arena. Great place to watch a game. Tony Barbee comes in with some hype and a good reputation. Seems to have a plan on and off the court. Looks, on paper anyway, like he's recruiting well enough to turn this thing around. So what's the problem? This team is now as bad as any group that Jeff Lame-O ever put on the floor. 9-17??? 1 SEC win in their last 11 games??? Not that these guys were very good last year, but I had some pretty good expectations for this team with several very experienced seniors and what was supposed to be a good recruiting class coming in. Plus, this league is reeeeeally schnitty. We may sneak 3 teams in the Dance. Maybe.
It's sad when the best thing that's happened so far is that being totally void of any gooderness, brings down Bama's RPI as they try to make the tourney. :facepalm:Do you realize as crappy as they are, they're tied for first in the league? I just don't understand how this team...this program can remain the worst in the SEC and one of the baddester in the whole country for so long. Do we clean house again and try starting over? Do we ride Barbee another year or two? I have no clue because I see nothing to say this team will do anything different next year.
