Well, the 52 against UF is better than the 50 we put up against Furman earlier in the season. That's about the only positive from todays 31 pt.  butt kicking I see. I didn't go to the game and had intended to do the PPV but by the time I started to order, UF had us by about 14 pts and I thankfully saved my 20 bucks.

BTW, Gaytors appear to be really good.

Aaaannnd Auburn shoots 26% in the second half and scores a grand total of 56 points to lose again...at home against Texas A&M.  9-17 and 3-10 in the SEC.  I believe at one point, this team was 8-7 and 2-0 in the league.

Obviously, this season is kaput, just like the last 10 or 12 or 15 seasons.  What the hayull is wrong with Auburn basketball?  New arena.  Great place to watch a game.  Tony Barbee comes in with some hype and a good reputation.  Seems to have a plan on and off the court.  Looks, on paper anyway, like he's recruiting well enough to turn this thing around.  So what's the problem?  This team is now as bad as any group that Jeff Lame-O ever put on the floor.  9-17??? 1 SEC win in their last 11 games???  Not that these guys were very good last year, but I had some pretty good expectations for this team with several very experienced seniors and what was supposed to be a good recruiting class coming in. Plus, this league is reeeeeally schnitty. We may sneak 3 teams in the Dance.  Maybe.

It's sad when the best thing that's happened so far is that being totally void of any gooderness, brings down Bama's RPI as they try to make the tourney.  :facepalm:Do you realize as crappy as they are, they're tied for first in the league?  I just don't understand how this team...this program can remain the worst in the SEC and one of the baddester in the whole country for so long.  Do we clean house again and try starting over?  Do we ride Barbee another year or two?  I have no clue because I see nothing to say this team will do anything different next year.

I think you've got to give him one more year.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I say give him 2 more seasons, regardless of what happens next season. What the hell is it gonna hurt? I think that it would be very hard to get another coach with as much potential/pedigree/etc.

I'm frustrated and maybe we should cut the cord. But, I think it will be easier to get a winning program with Barbee than if we start over--again. In retro--we screwed the pooch by demanding that Anderson do an on campus interview while he was at UAB. I can completely understand why he did not want to do that and it's ludicrous to demand that of him. We needed him more than he needed us, imo. I don't know if he would have us turned around but I thought he had the best shot at it. He knows the conference and landscape better and he's one hell of a coach.

I read a stat at lunch that last night, Barbee made 44 substitutions.  44 in a 40 minute game.

I don't think that's normal
