AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn's lengthy list of injured contributors could get a little shorter this week.
Defensive tackle Jeff Whitaker is expected back after missing the past three games with an undisclosed injury. Whitaker started the first six games and has eight tackles on the season. "I think we're in a good place with Jeff," Auburn head coach Gene Chizik. "Again, we'll know more towards the end of the week, but he's had a couple of weeks where he's really had a chance to get healthy."
** Quarterback Clint Moseley did not warm up on Saturday, but he did appear on the sideline in uniform. Moseley is battling a left ankle injury suffered against Texas A&M. "He is going to tape it up and try to get out there," Moseley said. "We’ll know more Tuesday, we’ll go out and practice tonight. We’ll see where he’s at tonight being able to step and plant."
With Moseley battling the ankle injury, Chizik anticipates that Kiehl Frazier will be Jonathan Wallace's backup against Georgia. "It wasn’t great at the end of the week last week," Chizik said.
** Tight end C.J. Uzomah's status for the rest of the season is up in the air. After emerging from the Texas A&M game healthy, Uzomah was injured in practice late last week and wore a cast on his right hand on Saturday. Uzomah will be a week-to-week evaluation. "We’re not sure exactly where we’re at with that," Chizik said. "Kind of a freak accident with his hand. We’re going to keep close tabs on it but that’ll be touch-and-go."
** Cornerback Chris Davis is still battling the long-term effects of a concussion suffered against Arkansas. "Chris is, right now, a question mark still," Chizik said. "Don't know exactly where that will be until the end of the week."
** Defensive tackle Devaunte Sigler, who has played rarely this season, has an undisclosed injury, and Auburn will make a decision on Sigler later in the week.
