Chizik's Aloofness

Chizik's Aloofness
« on: October 29, 2012, 11:05:26 AM »
Quote
“Probably not like this, no,” Chizik said. “I mean, you know, it’s hard to ever prepare yourself for something that’s been this difficult, but when you do this long enough, at some point in time or another, you know, you may have a chance to come to these valleys. We’re in it, and we’re going to continue to try to work to get over it.”

Gene Chizik went 2-10 in 2008 at Iowa State and had ten straight losses to finish the season.

He HAS experienced this before.  I think this is another example of Chizik playing nebulous when addressing the media and the Auburn fanbase.

This kind of blatant disrespect for the Auburn "family" (which he so proudly uses as a recruiting tool) is more grounds for termination than the actual losses.  We are in a shitstorm of historic proportions, and he's acting like he doesn't have to be transparent with those paying for the program.  It makes me wonder what kind of vague bullshit he's spouting to the players in the locker room, on the practice field, in the film room.

I bet he's still talking to them about tiny steps, blueprints, and working to get better.  I bet he's still telling them that he's evaluating positions to see who is the best starter.  I bet he's still using the phrase "day-by-day."

And there's always this tireless gem from a who-is-now-considered-by-me a brilliant writer:

I look at it completely different. To state that he has disrespect for the Auburn family would mean that he is saying that shit on purpose. I don't think he is. I think he is a dumb ass and doesn't have any idea what to say. Being a fucking dumb ass is different than being disrespectful...

I've never understood how he says they are going to evaluate the film to see if somebody may start next week.  Actually, the timing of when he says it is just usually dumb.  I've heard this most often when talking about QBs, and the question usually comes after one QB obviously outshines another.  I know that teams watch film of themselves from games and practice.  But the latest instance of this quote was when somebody asked if Wallace may be the starting QB next week.

I understand it is just coach speak, but what the fuck do you need to watch his game film for?  Were you not watching the game?  He threw for 2 TDs and 122 yards in 2 quarters.  Your other two QBs have thrown 3 TDs combined over a span of 8 games, and their ceilings are usually around 130 yards in a game.  Let Wallace play the entire game against New Mexico State to get him warmed up for UGA.  I don't think you guys have anything to lose at this point.  Frazier and Moseley have proven themselves to be equally inept and are both apparently banged up anyway.

If he is saying this same type shit to the team in practice and in the lockeroom then it makes perfect sense why we are what we are. We don't buy this bs and neither do they.

You're absolutely right.

I don't see how he isn't a total moron at this point.  I don't know much about x's and o's besides what I learned in high school and my short stint of high school coaching, but I guaran-damn-tee you that I could lead this football team better than him.  I could hire competent assistants and create a workplace environment that fosters some kind of success.

Give me SEC athletes (top ones at that), a film room, and competent coordinators, and I bet I could win 4 or 5 games.

I don't mind coachspeak.  I think WE is dead on.  It isn't coachspeak.  Coachspeak at this point would be disrespectful.  I don't think he knows what else to say.  I think years ago he was laying in his bed looking at the ceiling and rehearsed over and over again what he thought would be the best responses to media questions.  Now, he uses them over and over again because he doesn't have the mental capacity to come up with an actual answer.

Either way - coachspeak, consdescension, idiocy - he needs to go.  Now.  Not December.  Not next week.  Now.

I get pissed every week I hear him talking about evaluating positions......Yo, Eugene!  IT'S WEEK NUMBER NINE YOU DIPSHIT! YOU SHOULD KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY!  Between hearing that and what he said about evaluating Wallace this week really makes me wonder if he has been paying attention.

He hasn't been paying any attention.  Maybe never has.  Maybe didn't pay attention at all during the 2010 season.  Who knows?

But I guarantee you if I showed the five best plays and five worst plays of Moseley, Frazier, and Wallace to a ten year old girl, she'd recognize that Wallace was clearly the best choice.

Who cares if he doesn't know the entire playbook, how to read blitzes, or how to audible?  For one, I don't believe for a second that Frazier or Moseley knows any more than he does at this point.  And two, he's at least a true dual-threat with a strong arm and a tenacious personlity to give the offense some kind of spark.

Fire him now. Get Chizik out.

Anyone know where his house is?  Maybe we can get a group together and drive a few UHauls to his house.  It'd at least get us on TV.

At this point, who trusts that Chizik has the capacity to properly evaluate what Wallace knows or can do?  Nobody.  Put him out there and see what he can do.  The season is shot anyway.  This is the perfect opportunity to get him some good reps against a soft team.  No pressure, just go play ball.

It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I know you are half joking but I know exactly where he lives. It's not as hidden as you would think. Seen his house many times. It's very nice. And would look even better with moving trucks in the driveway.

I don't know if Gene is a dumbass, but he's lost as a HC, and all he knows how to do is parrot coach speak.  So, yeah, I don't think it's disrespect or aloofness, it's just all he knows to do is keep churning out the same tired lines of "working to turn it around"..."we're going to evaluate the QB situation this week"..."blah, blah, blah"...it's just Gene on Auto-pilot.

He's saying the same thing today that he said in 2010.  And 2009.  And 2007.  And 2008.

Why is it so dumb today when it was so brilliant in 2010?  And so dumb in 2008?  If you care to look back there was a big brawl on here about the blueprint in late 08 early 09 and how the things he was saying were the same things he'd said before.
