While we're piling on...and sorry if this was discussed...from a strategy standpoint, the last drive of the first half by Vandy had as much to do with our chances of winning, or lack thereof, as anything. Anyone recall a stat they put up just before that drive started. Vandy had 75 yards on their opening drive and 22 total on the 4 drives after that. So when a team has about 80 yards to go with 1:20 left in the half, do you continue to play them straight up as you have all half? Or do you drop everyone back and allow them to run eleven plays in about a minute?
The points they got right there before the half, was the difference in us needing a field goal from a great kicker...or Loeffler and Moseley having to get 6 to win. On that last drive before half, all we could do was holler "WHY?" at the TV. Was that the Stache's call? Chizik's?
