She could have kept her mouth shut, or chosen her words more carefully, but IMO, the jist of it was that we should pray for our team, our players and our coaches, that they might get back some of the unity and brotherhood that had accounted for much of our success in the past. No one can doubt that we have lost whatever that "IT" factor was that made our team special. I really don't think that is such a bad thing to ask people to do. If you are a person of faith, that's the kind of thing you pray for - not wins and losses.
Cam Newton made that quote about "When God be blessin, the Devil be messin' " and no one thought he was specifically blaming the Devil for all of his problems. It's a metaphor.
