Cam redemption...
« on: September 30, 2012, 03:46:35 PM »
Came out of the half and engineered a drive, a lot with his feet, including a TD, then just took the lead from the Falcons with another 4th Q drive capped by a screen pass for a long TD.  28-24 Cam's Panthers. Can their D hold?  They've played fairly well, save letting Michael Turner grind out yards.

Cam, with a 28-27 lead, 1:41 left.  3rd down and short, and he runs off tackle for what would be a 1st down and basically ice the game, and he fumbles. Teammate recovers, but inches short of the first.  Will punt from Falcons 45.

(Bad thread title!) Well, Cam's fumble blew it.  Falcons with no timeouts, first down would have iced it.  Punt puts Falcons inside their own 1, and they throw a 60 yard bomb.  Two more completions, and they take the lead with a 40yd FG.  Cam had a solid day running and throwing, but as my dad used to say "one awe shit wipes out a thousand attaboys".  Gonna find out if Cam can handle NFL pressure for sure now.  He looked more dejected than I've ever seen on the sideline after the fumble.  Stats here: http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=320930001

Almost the perfect game by him except for that fumble.

Sucks for him.  Sucks worse that the Falcons are 4-0.

And I forgot about the worst part of that game: #43.

He looked like the Jake Holland of NFL safeties.  I didn't watch all of the game, but I did catch the 1st quarter and the last 8 minutes.

In that time, I saw #43 look like a high school powder puff player trying to catch an easy interception on a poorly thrown, bad decision deep ball.  And both times, the Falcon receiver caught the ball.

I think it all went bad for him when John McLain blew up parts of his dad's building!

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
