LSU will play the remainder of the season without Tahj Jones, one of its most experienced linebackers, as well as three other players, coach Les Miles confirmed Wednesday.Miles was asked about reports concerning the players' academic eligibility during Wednesday morning's SEC coaches teleconference.Although he did not disclose specific details, Miles acknowledged that Jones, offensive lineman Evan Washington, tight end Tyler Edwards and linebacker D.J. Welter would not play this season."Those guys will not play this year," Miles said. "I don't know if I can tell you specifics."Miles announced ahead of LSU's season opener that Jones, long considered a starter at linebacker, had been ruled academically ineligible but was undergoing an appeal. The junior has not played in either of the Tigers' two games this season.Fellow junior Luke Muncie presumably will continue to start as the Tigers' strong-side linebacker in Jones' place.Miles also announced that sophomore defensive end Jordan Allen will miss the remainder of the season with an ACL injury.
Oh goody for us next week.
