The Jetgate thing - that is a terrible lack of integrity, not just to fuck over Tubs, but to disregard your own employer. There are ways to do that right and then there's what Petrino did.
He left Louisville five seconds after signing a contract extension to go to the Falcons.
Didn't even finish a season in ATL to go to Arky.
Hired his fucking mistress over a ton of more qualified legitimate applicants and got busted for cheating on his wife. Infidelity is one thing - but he HIRED HER. He fucked over a LOT of other people who were much more deserving of that job. That is inexcusable.
He's a douche.
Just not seeing the comparison with NCAA scofflaws Tressel and Carroll here.
What PETRINO did? Did he call Auburn or did Auburn call him? We know the answer to that. Where was the meeting held? How many times do you think this happens every year? Do you think Tuberville told Ole Miss that he was about to go to AU? What did Chizik tell the folks at ISU after he stunk it up and they went public in support of him? Do you REALLY think Miles never talked to or met with the folks at Michigan? If Herbstriet keeps his mouth shut, Les is in Ann Arbor right now. I can't fault Petrino for listening to what they had to say. And if it hadn't gotten out ahead of time nobody would care. Finebaum did that. He got tipped off by somebody close to Tuberville and made sure that got out.
Ok so he left Louisville for a huge contract with Atlanta. Self-serving? Yeah. Probably not the classiest move but I still don't see the issue. Coaches change jobs. Constantly. He could have handled leaving Louisville better.
He could have handled leaving Atlanta better too. He regretted that from day one and when Arkansas came calling he took the out.
So he sucks at break ups.
As for hiring the chick? Again not a shining moment but if he's the last 50-something male to be blinded and rendered ga-ga over some 25-year old tight-body puss I'll be surprised. Since you didn't see the applicant list you can only assume there were a lot of people better qualified. She might have been the best person for the job and his affinity for her curves was just an added benefit.
No hanging offenses in my book. But I'm a Methodist. We're more forgiving.
