It's finally here...

Football officially begins this week.

Freshman report Tuesday and practice begins Wednesday. Pads are strapped on Aug. 6 and Fan Day is the 12th.

Will we have anyone attending the occasional practice? It would be nice to get some non-media reports.

Position battles will be key, but they seem to be mostly taking place along the OL and at the QB spot.

I predict that Frazier wins the starting spot and the we finally see Westerman and Robinson live up to the hype. Will Mack be recovered enough to practice? I got the sense that his injury wasn't too severe. I believe he suffered a shot much like Forrest Gump: directly to the butt-ocks.

I'm ready. I concur on Frazier. Look for the OL and DL to be improved, maybe much improved.

Saw Westerman in the Auburn Academy Sports a couple of weeks ago. Dude is thick and mean looking. I wouldn't voluntarily wrestle the guy. Although Im sure

would. But seriously, he looked like someone not to be fucked with.

Not AU related but Sunday at church, I spoke with Josh Williford, starting guard at LSU. The guy is 6'7" and about 325. I asked him if he was ready to put the pads on in this heat and he just laughed and said he can't wait to get started. I cleaned out my garage on Saturday and thought I was gonna' have a heat stroke. I can't imagine putting on all that gear and practicing football.

All practices are closed to the public, except for scholarship donor weekend. (or the occasional former letterman and/or major donor that they let come out. I know Jason Dufner is a regular at practice)

TE Darrion Hutcherson is still in Dadeville awaiting the results of his Alabama Graduation Exam...if he gets passing scores, we then have to submit his application to the clearinghouse and play the waiting game.

WR Jaquay Williams is finishing up summer school. We'll also have to wait on approval from the clearinghouse before he can start practice.

All other signees are in.
