Knowing that you have an F250 (like me) you're lucky it's just a blown fuse. Otherwise it would have been eleventy billion dollars to fix. I swear Ford gets their heavy duty truck parts from Ferrari.
Ain't that the truth. Although after some research, the AC compressor seems to be the same one on all of the trucks and SUVs. I'm thinking I am having the "air gap" issue starting to manifest itself. AC is cold at idle and low speeds, but at high speeds/RPM, it gets less cold and even went out on me one day on the interstate. As soon as I got off the interstate, it started working again. Other than that, I have been very pleased with the old girl.
Upstairs AC still out. Put a new transformer in and it started working, but the transformer blew in about 5 minutes. We will replace the thermostat wire and thermostat next. May be a low voltage short somewhere. I need this unit to last a season or two longer till I get up the 3K to put a new one in. This one is 20 years old this year, so I got my money's worth.
