Blake said that Frazier's arm strength is better than anyone's he's ever seen, including Cam's.

I thought it was just random twitter idiots.

Here's Maisel -

Quote
@JustinReady
"@Ivan_Maisel: Chizik said Auburn senrs averaged 10 wins a yr. Yes; but also had two eight-win seasons" Needed bowl to reach 8 both times.

Also, saw Scalicsi make a snide remark about it.

Goddamn, just watched them pick our schedule.

The only "gimme" games they gave us was LA Monroe, New Mexico State & Alabama A&M.

Said we'd lose to Miss State. Was very doubtful about Ole Miss and even more doubtful about Vandy. Dari Noka said he disagreed saying Vandy would beat us, but moved on. Said we'd definitely lose our opener to Clemson. Shaky on Tex A&M, but thought we'd win. Pretty confident Georgia would beat us.

Of course, Bama, LSU, & Arkansas will kill us.

When did Arky become unstoppable? That was a common theme at media days. Those three teams and everybody else. I don't see them doing as well as yet did last year, but what do I know...

Yeah it's absolutely silly.

Knile Davis returns, so technically, Arkansas should be a lot better.  They can control the ground game and help their defense.  But Petrino is gone and the program is in a bit of turmoil, so any hype for Arkansas should die quickly.

Fuck those ESPN fucks.  How the fuck does any retard not feel we'll better than last year, fielding essentially the same team for the most part, that went 8-5 with a year more maturity, growth and time to work out, and probably with a better QB?

I listened to some idiots somewhere this afternoon discussing the "best" coaches in the SEC.

Saban. Spurrier. Mullen. Miles. Richt. Franklin..... crickets.

This is what they said about Franklin.

"I think Vandy can be a legitimate threat in the East.  They can win it.  If they can hang on to Franklin.  He's already got them moving in the right direction.  You give him a couple of years.  If he can get two or three Top Ten classes in there, if he can get a few of the big time players on both sides of the ball to commit, if he can get the kids to buy into doing things his way, if he can bring the fans back and get them energized, if he can get the administration to support him like coaches get support at other programs?  Vandy is a contender.  They can win the East."

NO SHIT.  That's all it's going to take?   A couple of consecutive Top Ten recruiting classes at a school that's NEVER had one?  Well that's just simple.  What water buffalo couldn't coach three top ten classes to some measure of success?

If Hugh Freeze gets a couple of Top Ten classes in a row, if Ole Miss moves from Oxford to Tallahassee, if Archie Manning and Peyton fuse and create a quarterback hybrid that enrolls at Ole Miss, if Bigfoot comes down from the trees in Tupelo to play linebacker and if monkeys fly out of my butt Ole Miss can contend in the West, too.

Morons.

Depends on how you look at it.  You can make a legitimate claim that in 2009, Auburn was three or four plays away from 11 wins.  Georgia, Alabama and Kentucky could all have gone differently with one more defensive stop or one more play on offense (Mario Fannin anybody?)

By the same token, AU was three or four plays from posting an ugly 5-6 mark last year.  USU, MSU, SC could all easily have gone the other way.  It's my personal belief that had Clunt Moseley been QB all three of those WOULD have gone the other way.  And he's back.  Back again.  Moesley's back. Tell a friend.

The teams to which we lost in 2011?  Arkansas is expected to be better and a darkhorse national title contender.  Will AU's improvement be greater than Arky's considering the Hogs plowed us 38-14?

LSU is expected to be significantly better.  Again, will the improvement at AU be enough to offset the difference?

Georgia and Alabama aren't expected to drop off much.

Do I want to beat Arky, LSU, Georgia and Alabama?  Damn straight. Do i think we'll go four for four?  No way.  I damn sure don't want to go 0-fer.  I think we win one of those four this year.  Best bets are LSU and UGA in my mind.

We'll also likely drop one we shouldn't.  Florida or Vandy are the most likely targets.

Florida's expected to be improved.

The media thinks James Franklin shits gold easter eggs.

They're also enamored with Mullen -- who is in my opinion one of the bottom three coaches in the league.

Fuck 'em.  Let them think what they want.  I've already said AU could be a much improved team but see little to no difference in the end result.

I'll be happy with progress.  I'll be happy if the defense dips back under 300 points for the year.  I'll be happy if the offense doesn't fall off the cliff and can put 22 points per game up.

Chizik has done all of that.  Franklin is being touted as having the "potential" to do these things.  Yet, Chiz gets no respect.

If Franklin doesn't parlay all this love for him in to a great job in the next 2 seasons, he winds up like every other fucking Vandy coach in my memory.  Google it, it ain't good.

You changed your post.

We can be better, and not win more than 8.  Win 8, and not get blown out in any, and we're on schedule.  If we have a chance in every game in the 4th Quarter, ie within 1 to 2 possessions, we've improved.

There are some variables, ie QB play, but I think we will be there.  I'll be ok with 8-9 wins if none of the losses are blowouts.

Improved or not, if we lose to Florida we're really fucked since we don't play them.

Unless we face them in the SEC Championship, in which case I like your thinking.

That was one of the things that had me pulling my hair out. They were saying we'd be better, then turn around & say we lose two more games.

Never mind that we play LSU, Arkansas, & Georgia at home this year, where we got them on the road last year. Never mind that we are playing Clemson on a neutral field (and reportedly have far outsold them in ticket sales). Never mind that we replace Florida & South Carolina with Vandy & Texas A&M. How they think we regress against Mississippi State, I have no idea.

I didn't look at the schedule.  We played Florida at home last year.  Haven't played AT Florida in a long time.  Forgot the addition of A&M I guess fouled that up.   Just thought we'd rotate to Florida this year.

Thank God for A&M.

If we had to play Florida in the swamp this year, we would unquestionably have a losing record this year in ESPN's minds.

Pretty much guarantees he'll be 4-0 on exceeding expectations. You'd think at some point people would become aware of this...

From another board.....

It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Although I agree on Moseley (he was as awful as it gets), it looks like Frazier SHOULD be our guy. Even if Clint did play, I think this offense is much more tailored to his statue of liberty, Drew Bledsoe, stand in the same place style of play. I don't think he would be AS bad in it. I still don't think he would be great.
