If he did it was five yards behind him at the ceremony.

I may get hung for saying this but I would take Daniel Cobb over Moseley. Hell I would take Chris Todd in his first year over Moseley with Tony Franklin as Todds OC.
That isn't really going out on much of a limb.  Most would take Todd or Cobb over Moseley. Especially Todd.

You want to really go strong how about Gabe Gross? Would you take Gross over Moseley?

He was a gritty kid...wouldn't ball up in the fetal position if a LB got within 5 yards of him...so yes!

Not really fair. Gross was a freshman (I think). Also Gross had professional talent. Moseley does not.

Last year we had no choice. Poor Trotter shit the bed. None of us have no idea why, but he just lost it. should he have been given another chance and few games later? Sure. But for whatever reason, he became totally ineffective. Is Moseley horrible? No. But is he SEC quality? For now, no. But I believe in miracles.

I give Gabe the nod only because he was pretty good at baseball and thats he is ambidextrous. That is all.

Actually 4- Gross still contributes at Auburn- he is an undergraduate assistant on the baseball team.

Well shit, I did not know that. That would be cool if he later became the HC of the baseball team.

Sure would. He wasn't a pussy. Gabe was a tough Auburn kid to the core. He just lacked Sec talent at that position. Baseball was always his sport for his talent.

I don't know Gabe Gross.

Did he cry in front cameras ever in his career?  If not, I'll take him.  If so, well, I'll still probably take him.

He was the main QB toward the end of mine, weskies and aut2000's reign at Auburn. Wasn't much for talent, but he had grit - he at least tried. Cool guy too, Auburn all the way. Jeff Klein (his backup) was more like Moseley.

Gross was from rightcheya in Dothan and I saw him play both foosballz and basketball several times.  Never went to a Northview baseball game but obviously, he was pretty damn good.  I was blown away when he was offered a football scholly because while he was a great athlete, there was nothing to suggest he could pass on the college level.  If memory serves, he was offered late and I think it may have had as much to do with his father, Lee Gross..former center at AU...as anything else.  However, and I'm just guessing here, there may not have been anything available baseball wise with the limits on scholarships, so they gave a good athlete a football scholly, knowing baseball was his sport but also adding some depth at QB.

Having said that, I also don't believe he ever got a real chance to develop and show what he could do. Don't know if Gross would have ever developed into a good QB..kind of doubt it...but that was a horrible time in AU foosball and I hope most on here aren't too young to really comprehend the beating he took against UGA that night.  The line situation was so bad by that time in the season, they had moved a 3rd string guard to TE just to have another big body to try and stem the flow.  It was ugly.  Thanks Terry.

I have a skreetz story about Gabe.  I heard that he was a pretty devout kid and not given over to profanity, and didn't like getting profanity back at him.  Then he met Yox.  Apparently Yox was not satisfied with the effort being given by the freshmen at a workout and decided to motivate them R. Lee Ermey style.  Apparently Gross told him (privately) that he didn't appreciate the language.  This had the exact opposite effect than intended with Tubs getting involved and basically telling them to work it out.  They never really did and it was one factor in Gabe leaving the football team for full time baseball.

I will have to say that freshman standing up to Yox = huge balls or extreme stupidity.

Not saying I don't buy it, but I highly doubt baseball would be any better in the vulgarity department.

I've heard some legendary stories about Corch Tricket and his foul mouf, but in person, I've never heard anyone to match Al Borges.  Once said 6 different derivatives of "fuck" as a complete sentence.  It was pure brilliance.
