Breaking News: AStateNation has learned that former Auburn running back Michael Dyer has been denied his waiver by the NCAA and will not be eligible to play this fall for the Red Wolves. Stay tuned to this developing story.
Press release:

JONESBORO (7/5/12) – Arkansas State head football coach Gus Malzahn announced Thursday that junior running back and Auburn transfer Michael Dyer will not be eligible to compete with the Red Wolves during the 2012 season due to NCAA transfer regulations.

The NCAA issued a final ruling today denying a waiver request submitted by the ASU Department of Athletics which would have allowed Dyer to become immediately eligible to compete in the 2012 season.

Dyer went through ASU’s spring camp this year after transferring from Auburn following his sophomore season in 2011. The 5-9, 210-pound junior tailback will have two years of eligibility remaining at Arkansas State starting with the 2013 season.

"Ok, up next on the agenda is Michael Dyer.  He is seeking reinstatement to compete at Arkansas State this upcoming school year."

"Please state his case."

"Well, it says here that Michael Dyer was failing classes at Auburn, a consistent discipline problem, and he failed a drug test."

"May the records state that Michael Dyer...."

"Wait, there's more.  He also was involved with some entity known as the Felony Four - well, that doesn't sound very good, now does it? - and something to do with a gun."

"Anything else?"

"Yes.  He also drank the blood of the innocent."

"Reinstatement denied."

I still think he plays the next year.  I think if he jumps into the draft he is going to go late 4th - 5th round.

And what about his history leads you to believe he's smart enough to do what's best?  You know damn well he's got some "uncle" in his ear telling him to declare first chance he gets.  "Get paid muthafucka!"

But you're right, he's done nothing to make himself a high round draft choice. I think 4th would be high right now when you factor in character issues.

500-1

He thinks he can just show up at the draft in 2013 and hit the first round jackpot.

Pittsburg State is D2. Where did you see that?

Meanwhile Phillip Sims, former Alabama QB, gets a pass to go ahead and play at UVA.
