So I started watching the new series Longmire on A&E, and saw that they were based on some books by Craig Johnson. Started reading them and... WOW. He is to Wyoming what James Lee Burke is to south Louisiana. Incredibly descriptive, with characters who have depth and flaws and are so relatably human. Walt Longmire is the sheriff of the most sparsely populated county in Wyoming, which is the most sparsely populated state in the US. His wife has died and he is lost, but has a job to do. The TV show is ok, not bad but not just amazing, and so far does not follow the books other than a few of the characters. No corresponding plot lines, so the first two books are not spoilers in any way. There are eight books so far, and I am thoroughly enjoying them. Makes me want to go to Wyoming.
