Nice.  Of course, that will fly completely over 90% of Rome's viewers and they'll start trying to google for Jim Rome mugshots.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

To his credit, he has denounced that interview.  It was early in his career and he was still very much trying to make a splash.

In my opinion, Rome gets some of the top targets and does really good interviews with them.

I'm a fan of his show...not necessarily a fan of the "clones", but I do like Rome a lot.

I think that was completely set up. Jim Everet was smiling the entire time and looked like he grabbed the table before he called him Chris. There really wasn't much tension there it didn't seem...

Never heard many of his interviews, he may be good at it, but his show sucks ass.  He caters to low rent dumbasses that want to be heard making noise on the radio.  If they were bammers it would be as bad or worse than Finefuck's crap.

I would say that makes it even worse.

No, he doesn't.  In fact, there is a very low tolerance for dumbassery.  You may think (and I agree) that the "hip slang" he and his callers use is silly coming from grown men, but there is none of the Jerry Springer-esque quality in which Finebaum specializes.

I've always enjoyed Rome.  Once I got used to his schtick he's pretty entertaining.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

Maybe it's that hip slang that turns me off, plus the national flavor to his show where they talk about shit I have zero interests in.  I did laugh one time at him when a local guy that I've heard on local radio called him.  He calls himself "Bama Earl".  Rome said "next up is Earl from Alabama".  The dumb redneck came on and said "this is Bama Er" CLICK...Rome goes in to one of his over the top diatribes about how you can't just give yourself a nick name on his show, it has to be earned.  That was funny.

My big issue with Rome is that he is always 2 redbulls over the line.

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "Guys don't mind hitting Michael Vick in the open field, but when you see Cam, you have to think about how you're going to tackle him. He's like a big tight end coming at you."

I listened to his show everyday years ago. The slang was annoying, as it just seemed like he was trying hard to be "cool", but I was able to get past it most of the time. What led me to stop listening to his show was his interviews. Sure, he could get high profile people, but I thought he tossed them too many softballs. It would bother me that he would bash the heck out of somebody for something during a commentary, but then when he interviewed the subject of one his rants, he would not ask any questions associated with his earlier diatribe. Maybe he has changed as his career has matured, but there is just still something about the guy that makes me want to turn the channel every time I see and hear him.
