On a serious note...sad event in HSV today

On a serious note...sad event in HSV today

Some of you may have already heard about this.

The Blue Angels had an airshow this weekend in HSV. We went to the Saturday show, but a tragedy happened during today's (Sunday) show.
A severe storm popped up very quickly which contained a microburst. The nearly 50 mph winds blew over some sponsor tents injuring a dozen people. The sad part is that a generator was also blown over on top of a 5 year old boy that died on the scene.

I lost my 53 year old mother unexpectedly a little over a month ago, but I can't imagine the hurt being felt by this family right now. My 10 year old son was out the show with me Saturday, so I can't even imagine going what would be starting out as a great family outing only to leave it without my son. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.

al.com has the story and some videos just in case you want to read more about it.

Wow, I hadn't heard about that.  That must have been some strong wind to blow a generator over.

Yea didn't make the news over here.  Everyone was still trying to find a way to blame Six Flags for the herd being thinned.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

CLEARLY, there were only 2 fences to be scaled and while the signs stated KEEP OUT, it wasn't obvious to the layman exactly where to keep out of.  They could have pertained to the unauthorized area where someone could be seriously hurt or killed, or they could have been referring to the Dippin' Dots keyosk where only employees are allowed to enter.

6 Flags must pay.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "Guys don't mind hitting Michael Vick in the open field, but when you see Cam, you have to think about how you're going to tackle him. He's like a big tight end coming at you."

A microburst is a very localized column of sinking air, producing damaging divergent and straight-line winds at the surface that are similar to but distinguishable from tornadoes which generally have convergent damage.

I just threw together this illustration to help you envision it:
