I don't know how many times we have to discuss this. Burrbinz is proof that God loves America more than any other country, if he didn't, he would have allowed to be made in somewhere like France. Plus, the Irish and Scots have to have used bourbon barrels to help flavor that nasty shit. Put it this way, if God allows for something better than bourbon, he kept it for himself.

). I think you are forgetting that little Barrel supply and demand game we talked about months ago. Seeing as how both of those countries have 3 of the 5 biggest Whiskey distilleries in the world, its damn near impossible for them (given their small size) to produce enough Barrels to keep up with their demand - especially considering they typically ferment longer than American distilleries and they all use white oak in multiple aging stages using different barrels in each. It makes perfect sense why they would buy those barrels since Bourbon has to be aged in NEW barrels (they would have no use for the used ones) and the 2nd and 3rd stages of distillation in the UK Whiskies tend to prefer used barrels that are already charred. I actually have a used, half barrel from Lynchburg on my deck that is being used for pepper growing. Still smells like Jack. I love it.
I honestly just like the taste of non corn based Whiskey better. Kind of like Pure Agave or High End Tequila (Patron, Don Julio) versus Jose or Montezuma (which is perverted and cheapened down).
By law, Irish whiskey must be produced in Ireland and aged in wooden casks for a period of no less than three years, although in practice it is usually three or four times that period.
Scotch Whisky Regulations require anything bearing the label "Scotch" to be distilled in Scotland and matured for a minimum of three years in oak casks.
