'The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money' - Margaret Thatcher
Which was exactly where I was going with this. You can't tax your core revenue more and more and expect to sustain. It's kind of like a few years ago when they raised taxes on tobacco products to pay of "poor kids insurance". The price of cigars, snuff and cigarettes went through the roof. Now that makes some happy. They believe that you have no right to smoke, dip, or chew for whatever reason. It stinks, I don't like the smell. Whatever, fuck you. If I want to smoke a cigar on my patio and you can smell it from your yard, then tough shit. Until you are the owner of my property then fuck off, which brings up another point of private property rights and do you really own your land..............
anywho, back on topic. It made those prices go up. It was the main source of revenue to pay for the program. If you raise the price so much in taxes, people will quit and then you lose that revenue all together. Then what? Where do you make that money up at? I know, we will tax the shit out of the rich, or out of those that aren't technically rich when they sell their house for a profit. When is this shit going to be enough to piss everyone off?
