Why is Jesus sad?

To me this is just a basic rejection of the same old same old.

Romney is like a Kennedy or a Kerry. Polished political turd. He made himself look like a fool with inability to understand the basic realities of living on a normal salary.  People can't identify with him.  FWIW, Finebaum doomed his Alabama chances when he exposed him as knowing nothing about sports and being unable to identify Nick Saban in a lineup.  Seriously.  It didn't cost him Legend's vote because that convicted piece of shit can't vote anyway, but it probably cost him a few others.

Gingrich has more baggage than Delta Airlines.  People look at him and see what was wrong before.

Sanitarium is younger, he talks conservative values -- which resonate here -- and he's personable.  He looks and acts like a real person, not some polished turd like Romney or a throwback to Lester Maddox like Gingrich.

And besides those girls might come here and sing that song.  We'd like that.

The Republican candidates are pathetic.

You have Obama - one of the more leftwing presidents of all time - trying to win a second term with a struggling economy, high gas prices, unrest in foreign affairs, and a high unemployment statistic.

And the Republicans offer Speak-in-Tongues, Rich-Magic-Underwear, and Old-Dirty-Pervert.

You put a strong candidate up against Obama, and the Republicans win easily.  Instead, they've offered the same ole "we're the religious, family oriented party" bullshit, and it's going to be laughable come November.

If anyone BUT  Santorum gets the nomination, I was probably going to vote for the Libertarian candidate, whoever that is decided to be.

Santorum is my nightmare candidate. All of the worst parts of the Republican party incarnate. He is the personification of exactly why I'm disillusioned with the Republican party right now. He snatched that crown from Sarah Palin.

If he's the candidate, I will absolutely vote for Obama, making it the first time I've voted for a Democrat in my life.

Cheer up, Chizad; Romney picked up 40 Delegates yesterday, Santorum only won 35 Delegates, Gingrich won 25, and Ron Paul won zero.

Relax, you live in the state that had a run off between Edwin Edwards and David Duke in 1992.

I understand what you are saying, but I think Santorum is probably closer to your libertarian views than Obama. You're talking small govt vs big govt. Is he an evangelical? Sure, but he said in a couple of debates that he would never force it on someone via legislation. I don't think he's a bad guy. Heck, Ive even poked fun at him in other threads as has AUT1. I know he was against Obamacare and against the bailouts. That's very libertarian, by way of wanting govt out of the private sector as much as possible. He's not my perfect candidate either, but I'm not surprised at all. The deep south is extremely conservative.

I voted for Newt because I kind of leave the social stuff in the car when I go to the precinct. I voted based off economic issues and I know what the guy did as speaker when I was graduating college. I remember the job market and the gas prices.

Aside from supporting Arlen Spector, Santorum's track record isn't too too bad. You just have to get past a lot of his religious rhetoric. But hey, it's a free country. He can worship as he wishes - as long as he doesn't legislature it, which there is no evidence that he's ever tried to do.

On cue this elitist, insufferable, bigot crawled out of the slime; I probably should ref. the regionally bigoted poll posted in another thread yesterday (http://www.tigersx.com/forum/index.php?topic=17605.0), all emphasis is my own:

Maher Insults Alabama and Mississippi Voters: 'Toothless Tuesday Too Tight to Tally'

By Noel Sheppard March 13, 2012 21:54

HBO's Bill Maher on Tuesday took a disgusting cheap shot at Alabama and Mississippi voters.

With all eyes on Republican primaries in those states, Maher sent a message via Twitter saying, "Toothless Tuesday too tight to tally!  We're gathered around the magic picture box with a bowl of grits watching the returns come in!"

This came just days after he and his Real Time panel mocked poor people in Mississippi.

Their behavior was even too offensive for Roseanne Barr who tweeted Tuesday, "I was really disheartened to see how Pelosi's daughter& Bill Maher portrayed southern americans-classism at its best by H'wood elitists."

Barr followed this up with, "southern folk are not all toothless idiots or racists, unlike what bill maher &pelosi's daughter want us to think."

You know what they say - when you've lost Roseanne Barr...

Readers are reminded that this is the same man that gave $1 million to Barack Obama's Super PAC.

Quote
EDITORIAL: The left’s war on rednecks
Liberal commentators betray their intolerance for conservatives
By THE WASHINGTON TIMES-The Washington Times                                                   Wednesday, March 14, 2012

In their own minds, liberals are open-minded and promote diversity - unless they’re talking about a white, southern, conservative believer. In that case, it’s open season for intolerance.

Tuesday’s Republican primaries in Mississippi and Alabama brought out the worst in some liberal commentators. HBO’s Bill Maher added to his recent difficulties by tweeting “Toothless Tuesday too tight to tally! We’re gathered around the magic picture box with a bowl of grits watching the returns come in!” This was a mean-spirited dig based on cartoonish stereotypes of the South.

Mr. Maher’s defenders might point to Jeff Foxworthy’s brand of humor, listing the alleged characteristics of rednecks. Mr. Foxworthy - who last week endorsed Mitt Romney for president - always delivers his lines with a wink, whereas Mr. Maher has developed a permanent smirk. Mr. Foxworthy’s blue-collar fans might nod and admit that some jokes ring a little true; Mr. Maher’s privileged left-wing devotees are already certain that the people in those states are illiterate hillbillies. To paraphrase Lynyrd Skynyrd, southern folk don’t need them around anyhow.

In January, actor Chris Rock attacked author Jason Mattera when asked about statements the comedian had made that conservative activists were racist and “insane.” Mr. Rock tore a camera from a female videographer, threw it 50 feet and challenged Mr. Mattera to a fight. “Tea Party members get called the worst things imaginable and still remain peaceful,” Mr. Mattera said. “But ask a big Hollywood celebrity to explain himself and the guy goes ballistic.”

Comedian Louis C. K., who usually avoids political topics, pulled out of hosting the upcoming Radio and Television Congressional Correspondents’ Dinner after a boycott threat from Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren. Ms. Van Susteren was outraged at graphic and obscene language the comic had used to describe Sarah Palin. His words were far worse than anything Rush Limbaugh had said regarding feminist activist Sandra Fluke, but Mr. Limbaugh’s comments prompted grandstanding celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred to demand his imprisonment. There have been no similar calls for foul-mouthed leftists to wind up behind bars for the things they’ve said. Luckily, the First Amendment still stands.

A new study confirms the general lack of tolerance for diversity on the left. A Pew Research Center survey of behavior on social media sites found that liberals are the most likely to have blocked, unfriended, hidden or otherwise muted a person on a social media site who posted political content they did not like. Apparently even in the relatively benign online universe, liberals simply cannot stand being exposed to ideas they don’t agree with and have to shut them out. If this type of blatant hypocrisy and general incivility upsets you, you might just be an American.
