I agree - knowledge is power.  But his essay wasn't THAT bad - and this is the grammar wench talking, right?  Especially since I doubt he was too worried about getting it right and making a good impression - it's not like this was for a grade or anything - it was just to get some Shrutebag off his back.  i doubt I personally would have put too much more effort into it myself.  And i might have thrown in a "fuck you" for good measure.

Wrong - most of my teachers in high school hated me, because i could pass their stupid tests without studying.  Yeah, I was one of those.

I was the same way in high school, but I at least had a little ounce of respect for my teachers.  And I did more than pass.  Obviously, you squeaked into Auburn on your "charm". 

What did you teach?  How To Win Friends and Influence People?  I have a feeling your students are not very sucessful in playing well with others.
