Lots you can eliminate by experience alone, and that goes for both ends of the spectrum. We're not getting Kevin Gilbride for instance, nor would chiz hire Bobby Engram, fresh off his playing career.
Greg Roman seems to want to be back in College as a HC. I know he was a finalist for the Penn State gig, but just discovered he was also trying to land the Vandy job last year too. He's sort of no name in the NFL, though he's the OC, he's running Harbaugh's offense. I'm pretty sure Harbaugh is the head play caller, or at least the head planner for the offense, but don't know that for sure. Interestingly enough, Harbaugh has never been an OC at any level, at least not in name. Maybe Roman thinks being the actual play caller will get him more name recognition and vault him in to a HC gig.
Or, maybe there's something that will surprise us all.
Discuss.
