If I remember correctly, Auburn had a tough time with that Dawg D during Gorders tenure there.

I'm mostly excited about him because he's aggressive.  If Ted Roof was a shrug-your-shoulders-get-it-right-next-time-guy, then Van Gorder rubs Ted Roof's face in the dirt while making out with Roof's girlfriend then raping the shit out of her..
I like it!!!

Gorder Ball

Why would a little gorder like that bother me? No, not a bit. It's nothing. It's nothin', it's um, in fact, it's um, it's very distinctive, ya know? Um, I mean you want to know something? I, I wish I had one....Really.

He's a good DC. I do not judge any coach's ability by what they do in Atlanta their last year (Petrino, Reeves, Mora, Phillips, Jones). Most leave and do better/great elsewhere.

His D's at UGA were nasty.

Top 10 scoring Defenses in 2002-2004.  That's enough for me right there.  As long as he's not a proponent of the 15 yard cushion on 3rd and 5...

8 min.
That's how long it took for one Auburn fan to say something negative...

Took less than that.   Took me that long to get on the board and type it.

This is the thing.  Maybe he works out ok.  I hope so.  We'll see.
You would say Atlanta played good defense this weekend?  Overall Atlanta has had a pretty good defense with him at the helm but Christ on a cracker I thought I was watching Neiko try to cover folks yesterday.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I thought the Falcons were like 8th in the NFL on D?  Maybe not?

Anyways, that mustache has so much swag that teams will bend over and submit by the start of the game.  honestly, perception from the national boards is this is a great hire and the UGA fans are even acknowledging as much.  Hoping that recruits think the same.

Heard that he is one hell of a coach, but not a great recruiter.  I think we have enough good recruiters to take up that slack.

NVM I read his wiki, apparently it was a disastrous season.

Also per the Wiki's

Personal

He and his wife, Pollie, have five children: Molloy, Morgan, Mack, Montgomery and Malone.[6]

He also HATES houndstooth, Harvey Updyke, and Nick Saban!

He has fielded tough run defenses.  Pass defenses have been pretty bad.
We should be use to that by now.

I am hoping he will bring in a DB coach that will have that covered.

He's always coached linebackers, so I wonder if we will be in the Ted Roof boat again or if we will hire a DB coach?
