Gus on Brando's show
« on: December 16, 2011, 10:40:51 AM »
Why now?

Best opportunity, period.  Doesn't make decisions based on how fans think, he's looking for the right fit at the right time.  He can build ASU, has a good chance to win there and his wife and kids will not suffer culture shock.  Easy transition for them.

Why the pay cut?

Not always about the dollars.  Not that far removed from coaching high school.  Looking for the right place to grow. As an OC when you've won a national championship and coached a Heisman winner you've done about all you can.  Had some opportunities last year but none felt right. This one does.

What about Chizik?

Nothing bad to say.  Great guy, great coach.  Will make good hires and keep the Auburn thing going strong. No doubt.

What about the Kristi video?

Wife made him.  Would not be the man or the success he is without her. She's a godly, Christian woman.  Sad and unfortunate that somebody would manipulate something to disparage her.  Sad.  Unfortunate.  But in a high profile position you have to expect some of that.  Sad.

Good interview.

Why is it that anytime someone touches anything Auburn, they become a pathological liar?  It's like Gus couldn't help but lie in his interview.  Do you think there's some kind of brainwashing taking place at Auburn?  To keep everyone hush-hush?

That has to be the answer.  How in the world did Auburn's mafia (see The Auburn Family) fool the NCAA?

They had to make damn sure everyone involved would lie even in the face of glorified justice.

Poor Gus.  I bet at one point he was a good man.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Also on Chizik:

"He kept the staff pretty much intact for three years.  That's almost unheard of in this business. It's great continuity. That both Ted and I are leaving at the same time is really just a matter of timing more than anything else."

Gus has his own belief system that apparently makes no sense, especially in a world ruled by money. I'm actually having a harder time understanding why all these folks don't understand why Gus would make this move. Being surprised that they don't though is another thing. Once Gus gets into next season and being successful we will probably then hear something like "Gus made the right move, it was obvious that Chizik was holding him back. Gus was better than Auburn and Auburn didn't deserve Gus".

Matt Mitchel on the Cole Cubelic show asked him if Chizik was hand uffing his offense and if that played any part in his leaving.

His response:

"That's hilarious."

Poor Gus.  I bet at one point he was a good man.

The reason is, for so many years, we've allowed the local media and "personalities" to say all the things they do about Auburn, and do it unchecked.  Why does Finebaum say "The Never to Yield Foundation" with such vitriol in his voice?  He doesn't like having to answer for the shit he says, then claims he didn't say.  And if you go other places around the net where they talk football, that are not just populated with SEC people, you'll quickly find out that the notion that Lowder and Dye run the whole program at Auburn isn't just a local notion.  Nationwide, many labor under the believe that the Auburn Family is called "The Family" because it's so Mafia like.

Remember back when the NtYF got started? It was around the Scott Moore garbage, as soon as the first article was written about Moore, the bama retards started screaming & threatening whomever was/is part of the Foundation. They can't stand it, Auburn is pushing back and as long as I live, we'll keep pushing back. War NtYF!!!
