   It was my understanding that he only has to sit out one year, but if he doesn't get a release from Auburn, he has to pay his own way the year he sits out.  I believe this is what happened a few years ago when a B-ball player transferred from Miss St. to Ark.  Also, when Matt Hall transferred from Ark to Ole Miss.

Thats the way the SEC bylaw reads. I was only assuming that since it is commonly referenced that SEC to SEC is 2 years, that the SEC bylaw was an additional stipulation. The NCAA requires a 1 year sit out. The SEC requires a 1 year sit out if it is SEC to SEC Xfer. Why would the SEC have a bylaw for a one year sit out if the NCAA bylaw already covered that circumstance? Thats why I read as "in addition to". Its something additional the SEC did to discourage xfering within the conf.

I don't know how Auburn or the SEC interprets his "suspension" but I am guessing he is still on scholarship at Auburn and is considered a "student athlete" at this time which is what I think these bylaws would apply to.

I'm pretty sure that the Grant in Aid contracts at SEC schools have a clause that says they cannot transfer within the SEC without a Waiver from the current institution.

It doesn't say "in addition to".  Say a Graduate (like the doofus from Oregon) wanted to transfer within the SEC and NCAA bylaws allowed it.  This SEC bylaw would still mean he couldn't.  There have been players transfer within the SEC, none sate out 2 years that I'm aware of.

The 2 years thing has been referenced by a lot of folks. Some of them I respect, others I don't.

Maybe its implied, who knows. Either way, I think he's much more likely to go to Arky State than Arky.

First I've heard of any 2 year SEC rule, but that doesn't mean it's not the case.  Still, it doesn't say "in addition to". 

Until he's actually not an Auburn student anymore, it's all speculation anyway.

Why the hell would he transfer to ASU?  I understand the Arkansas/Malzahn connection....but you still have to sit out a year, then play at a crappy school.  If...he actually plays.
